Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), in collaboration with key national and international partners, presents the 2nd Lumbini International Peace Festival from March 20 to May 12, 2025, at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lumbini and surrounding areas.

The festival promotes Lumbini as a center for peace and spiritual tourism, strengthening cultural, sports, and religious ties between Nepal, China, and other nations.

Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of NTB, stated: “The festival underscores Nepal’s commitment to global peace and cultural harmony. We welcome visitors worldwide to experience Lumbini’s spiritual essence and unity.”

On March 21, 2025, the Opening Ceremony & Meditation Festival at the Sacred Garden will bring together 100 monks and 400 practitioners for a profound spiritual experience near Maya Devi Temple. The 3rd Lumbini International Peace Marathon follows on March 22, 2025, marking the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, with races, a community run, and a peace walkathon. That evening, the Lumbini Peace Concert at Lumbini Square Theatre will feature performances by the Nangqian Arts Troupe from China and Nepalese artists. The festival concludes on May 11-12, 2025, with Special Commemorative Events celebrating 25 years of Zhong Hua Monastery, including a photo exhibition, Buddha ordination ceremony, and a grand closing on Vesak Day.
