Bangladesh- Nepal Tourism ExchangeThursday, March 3rd, 2022

Nepal Tourism Board along with nine private sector delegates attended the Bangladesh- Nepal Tourism Exchange and B2B organized and hosted by the Bangladesh Tourism Board with the aim of reviving tourism and encouraging arrivals between both countries.

The two day event was officially launched on March 2, 2022, at Hotel Intercontinental, Dhaka. The first half of the event was a plenary session with destination presentation by CEO of Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) Mr. Jabed Ahmed and Sr. Director Ms. Nandini Lahe-Thapa of Nepal Tourism Board.

Mr. Mokammel Hussein, Secretary of Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Bangladesh, emphasized the importance of tourism to both countries and the very close ties shared. Similarly, His Excellency Kumar Rai, Charge d’affairs Embassy of Nepal in Bangladesh reiterated waiver of visa fees to Nepali nationals travelling to Bangladesh and providing on-arrival visas too.

Mr. Achyut Guragain, President of Nepal Association of Travel and Tour Agents (NATTA), was also part of the Nepal delegation led by NTB. While the first session focused on destination briefing, media meeting and presentation, the second session was a business networking program.

The program was followed by Bangladesh-Nepal Tourism Promotion and Cultural Night at Cox Bazaar where the Chief Guest was Hon’ble State Minister for Tourism in Bangladesh Md. Mehboob Ali and hosted by BTB. Representatives from NTB and private sector from Nepal participated at the event and interacted with the tourism officials and trade from Bangladesh.

This event is a positive step forward after the bilateral MoU signed between Heads of State of Nepal and Bangladesh where tourism and connectivity has been prioritized
We are confident that such tourism promotion efforts will help Nepal, Bangladesh and the region rebound tourists arrivals.
