Farwest Travel Mart 2022 concludes successfully in Dhangadhi, Promotes Cross-Border Tourism

The Far West Travel Mart, first of its kind that was being organized with the goal of promoting existing and potential tourism products and activities of Sudurpaschim Province (Far-West) of Nepal has come to an end on 10th April in Dhangadhi Sub Metropolitan city.

The 3-day mart, promoted with the brand of Beautiful Farwest : Shukla to Api Saipal, was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale on Friday, April 8, 2022.

More than 60 tour operators and media representatives from Delhi, Nainital, Rudrapur and other border cities of India participated the mart.

Altogether 25 stalls were put up by tour operators, hoteliers, airlines operators and representatives from provinces and districts of far west.

On the first day of the mart, after inaugural ceremony, there was B2B meetings between buyers and sellers.

The local tour operators had developed tour packages focusing Shuklaphanta National Park, Khaptad National Park, Karnali River Rafting and tours to pilgrimage sites of farwest.

One the second and third day, Indian tour operators and media team was taken to Shuklaphanta National Park for Jeep Safari where they had a close view of wildlives such as swamp deer, rhinoceros, tiger etc.

They also had a thrilling and adrenaline filled experience of rafting in Kuine-Chisapani sector of Karnali river.

At the closing ceremony of the mart, Sr. Director at Nepal Tourism Board Hikmat Singh Ayer thanked to the delegates from India and other local personalities who had played significant role in making the mart a grand success.

Sr. Director Ayer expressed hope that FAM tour will boost up confidence among the tour operators for developing and selling packages including attractive activities and destinations of far west Nepal.

He further reiterated that the mart was a platform for creating new business opportunities among tourism entrepreneurs from India and Nepal.

The visiting tour operators expressed their happiness and stated that they will be travelling back home with all the good memories of Far-west Nepal and its unique tourist destination.

Adding that the mart was an effective platform for sharing updates and information on tourism attractions of Farwest Nepal, they expressed their commitment of developing packages of Far-west Nepal in partnership with their Nepali counterparts targeting Indians living in border cities.

The mart was organized in accordance with NTB’s program to conduct ‘Provincial Travel Marts’ in each province with a sole intention of reviving tourism in post COVID situation, developing and expanding the business activities of tourism entrepreneurs in various provinces of Nepal, as well as to establish business relations with tour operators from the regional market.

It was jointly held in collaboration with Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolis in collaboration with the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) Far Western Province.
