International Visitor Arrivals (IVAs) – April 2025 Highlights
Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is pleased to share that April 2025 has set a new benchmark in the tourism sector, recording the highest number of international visitor arrivals (IVAs) for any April in history. This achievement highlights Nepal’s continued tourism rebound and growing global appeal.

Key Highlights:

Record Performance: April 2025 became the best-performing April ever in terms of international arrivals.

Figures: A total of 116,490 international visitors were welcomed in April 2025, marking a 5% increase compared to April 2024.

Recovery Milestone: The April 2025 IVAs reached 106.5% of the pre-pandemic level (April 2019), showing strong recovery and sustained growth.

Cumulative IVAs (Jan–Apr 2025): Nepal has welcomed 415,048 international visitors in the first four months of 2025.

Top 5 Source Markets – April 2025:
India – 25,933 visitors (22.3%)

USA – 10,053 visitors (8.6%)

China – 9,037 visitors (7.8%)

UK – 6,738 visitors (5.8%)

Bangladesh – 5,398 visitors (4.6%)

Regional Distribution of IVAs – April 2025:
South Asia (SAARC): 33,899 (29.1%)

Asia (Other): 22,167 (19%)

Europe: 30,249 (26%)

Oceania: 6,023 (5.2%)

Americas: 12,775 (11%)

Middle East: 3,504 (3%)

Africa: 425 (0.4%)

Others: 7,448 (6.4%)

Chief Executive Officer of NTB, Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi, stated, “We are encouraged by the positive momentum reflected in the latest arrival figures. This growth reinforces Nepal’s position as a favored destination among international travelers.”

NTB has commenced a monthly publication titled Tourism Insights to provide regular updates and analytical perspectives on tourism trends. NTB will continue to enhance this resource with added information in the coming days.
