Lumbini to Himalayan BlissSunday, June 30th, 2024
Nepal Tourism Board and The Embassy of Nepal, Bangkok organized a Tourism Promotion programme Experience Nepal: Lumbini to Himalayan Bliss’ in Bangkok on June 27, 2024. The programme was organized in association with Nepal Airlines (NA). Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) and Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA). A total of 75 companies participated from Nepal and Thailand, including 25 travel/tour companies from Nepal, 50 travel/tour companies from Thailand, and representatives from three airlines (Nepal Airlines. Thai Airways, and Thai Lion Air), Thai Officials, business entrepreneurs media persons, representatives from Non-Resident Nepali Association, Thailand and Thai-Nepal Association were among others.
Addressing the program, H. E. Mr. Dhan Bahadur Oli, Ambassador of Nepal to the Kingdom of Thailand encouraged all the participants to explore the business potentials in tourism sector. As Nepal offers unique opportunities to Thai visitors starting from Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha, and credal of peace, Janakpur, the capital city of Rajarishi Maharaja Janak, to mesmerizing Himalayas. Nepal is the destination for all seasons and every category of travelers including cultural, heritage sites, nature lovers, pilgrims, adventure, leisure, sports, jungle safari. and many more.
Mr. Vitidnan Rojanapanich, the first Everest Summiteer from Thailand in 2008 and President of Thai Nepal Friendship Association (TNFA) shared his experience about Nepal and Himalayas with the participants during the program. Deputy Chief of Mission/ Minister Counsellor Mr. Prakash Adhikari welcomed the participants
Mr. Nabin Pokharel, senior manager, NTB made a thematic presentation on Experience Nepal: Lumbini to Himalayan Bliss’. In his presentation, he highlighted major touristic attractions in Nepal including Lumbini, the Birthplace of Lord Buddha to Himalayan bliss. And modem facilities, sports, Airports, hotels and so on. Mr. Ramesh Kumar Hamal, former Vice-Chairman of Thai-Nepal Chamber of Commerce (TNCC) also spoke about the potentials of tourism between Nepal and Thailand.
During the programme, young artists from Thai-Nepali communities presented some cultural performances with the support of Thai Nepali Association. Four round trip air tickets, Hotel packages, and Rafting packages were offered in a lucky draw raffle in the program, to encourage Thai tourists to visit Nepal, with the sponsorship of participating companies and airlines.
