Minister Badri Prasad Pandey Wins ‘Tourism Minister of the Year – Himalayan Region’ at ITB Berlin 2025Thursday, March 6th, 2025

Berlin, Germany – March 5, 2025 – In a major achievement for Nepal’s tourism sector, the Honorable Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, was awarded the highly sought-after “Tourism Minister of the Year – Himalayan Region” under the exclusive Excellence in Governance category by the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association (PATWA). This high-profile award was presented at the Internationale Tourismus Börse (ITB) Berlin, the world‘s leading travel trade fair, which took place from March 4th to 6th, 2025.

The PATWA International Travel Awards are annually awarded to acknowledge and appreciate individuals, governments, and organizations that have made notable contributions towards developing and promoting tourism in the travel industry‘s various sectors like aviation, airlines, hotels, tour operators, travel agencies, destinations, and government agencies.

During the award event, Minister Badri Prasan Pandey was lauded for his outstanding leadership in taking Nepal‘s tourism into the forefront with a focus on the country being committed to both sustainability and digital innovation.

The Honorable Minister also found himself in the spotlight as one of the keynote speakers at the 25th annual PATWA World Tourism and Aviation Leader‘s Summit on “AI & Sustainable Tourism.” Addressing a global gathering, Minister Pandey presented Nepal‘s initiative to integrate AI-based solutions in its tourism policy and make it inclusive and sustainable for future growth.
