Nepal Awarded at EMITT 2017, IstanbulMonday, February 13th, 2017
ISTANBUL, Turkey, Jan. 31, 2017 – Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has been awarded the First and Best Appearance Award in 21st East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition (EMITT) held in Tüyap Fair Convention and Congress Center, Istanbul, Turkey from Jan. 26 to 29, 2017.
EMITT has been a strong platform for Nepal to boost Nepal’s unique and fascinating tourism brand in Turkey. This is the second time NTB has participated in this Exhibition. Along with NTB, five other private sector companies namely Aarya Village Travel Pvt. Ltd., Classical Adventure Nepal Travel & Treks Pvt. Ltd., Makalu Adventure Pvt. Ltd., Sea Links Travels & Tours Pvt. Ltd, Trekking International Nepal Pvt. Ltd., also exhibited and showcased their products and services.
Participated by more than 80 countries and 450 tour operators, this Exhibition is considered to be one of the top five tourism exhibitions in the world. This exhibition serves as a major meeting point for joining forces in competition with leading tourism destinations of the world and contributes growth and revival to the tourism sector.
NTB has also disseminated the message of upcoming Himalayan Travel Mart to be held in Kathmandu in June 1-4, 2017. The active participation of Nepal at the Exhibition delivered Nepal’s welcoming message to the prospective Turkish visitors and regained the confidence of Turkish people towards Nepal as a happening and fascinating destination. The private sector participants also actively marketed their products and services, and were able to renew their contacts and also establish new ones.The major interests of the Turkish tourists were about adventure, nature and cultural tours.
Local Turkish media also visited the Nepal Stall and interviewed NTB officials. NTB was represented by Mr. Rohini Prasad Khanal, Senior Officer, and Mr. Suman Ghimire, Senior Officer.
According to the organizer, there were five thousand organizations and institutions promoting their destinations and businesses, and approximately sixty thousand visitors visited the Exhibition.
