Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) participated in Travel & Tourism Fair, TTF-2019, in the fast rising city of Ahmedabad, in Gujarat held from Aug 30 to September 1, with the aim of increasing awareness and educating the Indian travelers on Nepal’s tourism products and activities.
As a part of National Tourism campaign, Nepal is celebrating Visit Nepal 2020 in which Nepal is marketing as an unique cultural, adventure & natural destination with new brand image that is rarely found anywhere else in the world targeting 2 million tourists.
NTB and the participating inbound companies from Nepal were Divine International Explore & Treks P. Ltd., Holiday Bookers Nepal P. Ltd., Luxury Travel & Tours P. Ltd., Kathmandu Holiday Tours & Travels P. Ltd., Apoorva Tours & Travel P. Ltd., Satyam Tours & Travel P. Ltd., Soham Treks & Expedition P. Ltd., White Stone Holiday Nepal P. Ltd., Radha Krishna Holidays P. Ltd., Nepal Jai Mata Di Tours & Travels P. Ltd., Akama Hotel, BCN Travels & Tours P. Ltd., Hotel Royal Singi and Samrat Tours & Travels P. Ltd. engaged in both B2B and B2C promotion during the fair. Amongst many exciting options, the private sector had customized various lucrative packages for the Indian tourist at the fair. Pilgrimage, Leisure, Soft Adventure Activities along with Kailash and Muktinath pilgrimage tour drew special attractions.
The three day fair attracted more than 20000 visitors. Around 700 stalls featuring dozen Indian states along with destination countries Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Greece graced the fair. The fair was organized to capitalize on the growing economy of Gujarat. Nepal stall succeeded in disseminating both general and specific information to the visitors. NTB won BEST DECORATION AWARD in Travel & Tourism Fair ( TTF ) 2019 Ahmedabad.
The destination brand encompasses Nepal’s potential tourism products with a specific focus on three major segments: Weekend Breaks, Amazing Adventures and Lifetime Experiences. All three segments offer a variety of tour products catering to the potential profile of the outbound travelers from various markets. Weekend break holidays comprises of Spiritual Weekends, Family weekends, Adventure Weekends targeting Indian travelers who mostly wants for weekend breaks. Amazing adventures deals specially with the young travelers for whom a variety of soft adventure options are available e.g.: Hiking, Rafting, Mountain Biking, Ultralight flight, Paragliding, Bungee jumping, Zip Line and Trekking etc. The segment of Lifetime experience is targeted at those travelers who would enjoy the rich culture and heritage of Nepal along with the natural splendor of Nepal.
India is the most significant market for the Nepalese tourism industry with approximately 1/3rd total market share. Indian market is important for both in terms of value and volume.
In 2018, Nepal received 200438 tourists from India by air which is around 25% increase as compared to 2017. During the first quarter of 2019, Nepal received 60438 tourists from India.
