Nepal, Bangladesh and other South Asian Nations Come together to develop the joint packagesTuesday, May 30th, 2023

Nepal Tourism Board along with 9 Nepali tour operators participated in Mujib’s Bangladesh Tourism Promotion and B2B Exchange Program held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 26 – 29th May 2023. The regional tourism business exchange was participated by Nepal along with Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Seven Sister States of India along with West Bengal.

A total of 97 tourism stakeholders of the participating countries had interacted with more than 120 tourism stakeholders (tour operators, hoteliers, airlines, cruise) and officials of Bangladesh Tourism Board during the B2B session organized jointly by Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) in association with Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism (MoCAT), Bangladesh. Similarly, the participating tourism stakeholders of each country also had the time to interact with the delegates of each country. The program concluded after the tour of Cox Bazaar.

The program was milestone in developing strong ties between the countries and has opened the possibilities of starting the joint packages. Nepal and Bangladesh could promote the package ‘from top of the world to the sea’.

During the formal program, which was attended by the Minister and Secretary of Bangladesh Civil Aviation and Tourism, his excellency ambassadors of Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bhutan reiterated the possibility of developing the combined packages and assured of smooth visa processes for the potential tourists of each other countries. H. E. Mr. Ghanshyam Bhandari, ambassador of Nepal to Bangladesh highlighted the historical and cultural ties between Nepal and neighboring countries. He applauded the contribution of Bangladeshi tourists in Nepalese Tourism industry and expected a greater number of tourists in the following year. He seconded the ideas of further strengthening the collaboration among the countries for the advancement of the tourism sector in the region.

Mr. Mani Raj Lamichhane, Director of Nepal Tourism Board and head of the Nepal delegation answered the queries raised by the Bangladeshi media and tour operators during B2B meeting. A token of love was handed over to the Chief Executive Officer of Bangladesh Tourism Board Mr. Abu Tahir Muhammad Zaber and the officials of BTB. Mr. Zaber applauded the participation of Nepal and the enthusiasm of the Nepalese tour operators in jointly collaborating the packages from ‘Sea to Summit’.

The delegates were also taken on the tour of Cox’s Bazaar – the longest beach in the world. The tour further backed the possibility of collaboration and development of ‘Sea to Summit’ package for the tourists of the region as well as to the third countries. The program concluded with the message of cooperation for the regional tourism.
