Nepal Concludes Successful Participation at SATTE 2026 with Strong Business Leads and Growing Market ConfidenceSaturday, February 28th, 2026

New Delhi, India | 25–27 February 2026 — The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) successfully participated in SATTE 2026 at Yashobhoomi (India International Convention & Expo Centre) with more business leads — renewed partnerships, fresh ideas, and growing confidence from the Indian travel fraternity.

Over three extensive networking days, the Nepal Pavilion (Stall B32, Hall 1) became a lively meeting point for conversations that mattered. Nepal brought one of its largest delegations ever — 44 representatives from tour companies, DMCs, boutique hotels, resorts, airlines, adventure specialists, and community-based tourism enterprises — all united by one message:

Nepal is ready — ready to partner, ready to deliver, and ready to grow together.

Strong Footfall, Serious Buyers, Real Business

Across the three days, the Nepal Pavilion remained vibrant and busy. Exhibitors reported back-to-back meetings with Indian outbound operators, corporate planners, wedding specialists, and media representatives.

The most notable takeaway? Buyers came prepared to do business.

Participants shared that many discussions moved quickly towards clear demand for new and upcoming tourism experiences for aspiring travelers:

  • Short-haul international getaways
  • Spiritual and pilgrimage tours
  • Kailash connectivity and multi-day pilgrimage tours in Nepal
  • Luxury villa stays, boutique retreats, and wellness programs
  • Adventure and mountain biking experiences
  • Community-based and village tourism experiences
  • Destination weddings and MICE venues
  • Filming and OTT content opportunities

Nepal Emerging as a Filming Destination

One of the most exciting developments this year was the growing interest in Nepal as a filming location. Exhibitors reported meetings with Indian film producers, OTT creators, and advertising agencies exploring Nepal’s dramatic landscapes and cultural settings.

Destinations such as Pokhara, Kathmandu Valley, and Lumbini were discussed as ideal backdrops for films, web series, music videos, and devotional content.

With diverse scenery within short travel distances, improving connectivity, and competitive costs, Nepal is increasingly seen as a practical and visually compelling alternative for Indian production houses.

Strong Market Momentum

India continues to be Nepal’s largest source market, contributing approximately 25–30% of total international arrivals. January 2026 alone recorded a 30% increase in Indian arrivals compared to January 2025 — a growth trend clearly reflected in the positive response at SATTE.

With open borders, improved air connectivity, stable currency exchange (NPR 1.60 = INR 1), and seamless tourism operations nationwide, Nepal remains a convenient and culturally connected international choice for Indian travelers.

Partnerships Beyond the Pavilion

A highlight of NTB’s participation was the emphasis on sustainable collaboration for tourism promotions including:

  • Joint stakeholder familiarization trips
  • Trade exchange programs
  • Roadshows in emerging Indian cities
  • Co-branded promotions and marketing campaigns
  • Engaging next-generation entrepreneurs in tourism development

“The focus this year was on strengthening networks, not just generating leads,” said Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO, Nepal Tourism Board. “The openness of our Indian partners to collaborate on new products and segments was especially encouraging.”

Mr. Rohini Prasad Khanal, Marketing Head, added: “SATTE 2026 demonstrated that Nepal is not just a destination, but a strategic partner. From luxury and adventure travel to filming tourism and community exchanges, we are building relationships that will create long-term, mutually beneficial growth.”

Looking Ahead

India remains Nepal’s largest source market, contributing 25–30% of international arrivals. With strong networks reinforced, promising leads generated, and collaborative initiatives in motion, NTB leaves SATTE 2026 focused on turning partnerships into long-term growth.

Nepal looks forward to welcoming Indian travelers to its mountains, villages, spiritual trails, adventure routes, and luxury retreats — offering experiences that go beyond travel to become lifetime memories.
