Nepal Europe Travel Summit 2018 Concludes SuccessfullyMonday, April 2nd, 2018
The Nepal Europe Travel Summit 2018 concludes successfully with fruitful networking sessions of Nepali inbound tour operators with European outbound tour operators and travel media at Warsaw, Vienna and Zurich.
The Summit was organized by Nepal Tourism Board along with five companies from tourism sector following the ITB-Berlin trade fair from 7-11 March 2018.
Speaking at the event organized in Warsaw on 13th March, Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Tourism Board, Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi highlighted on the aim of the Summit as to strengthen and broaden the business ties of Nepal with the travel trade fraternity of Europe. Responding the queries from media, he expressed that Nepal has always remained a must-see destination amidst the European travelers; and Adventure Tourism has been a central point for such attraction. He emphasized that Nepal, nonetheless, has much more to offer beyond Adventure Tourism; the cultural diversity of Nepal that flourishes amidst the vast bio-diversity of the country has enriched Nepal with unique elements of tourist attractions. A tourist in Nepal can have a lifetime experience and he/she can feel that Nepal is the place for experiential tourism. He further highlighted that many forms of tourism activities that Nepal possesses help enable the outbound tour operators of Europe to sell Nepal as an individual tourism destination in itself. The summit saw a noteworthy presence of outbound tour operators and media personalities.
Following the event in Warsaw, Nepal Tourism Board organized the second leg of Nepal Europe Travel Summit in Vienna on 15th of March, which attracted more than 40 travel trade leading personalities. The event was graced by His Excellency the ambassador and the permanent representative of Nepal to United Nations, Mr. Prakash Kumar Subedi. H.E. Subedi in his welcome remarks apprised the audience that Nepal has recently opened its Embassy in Vienna and highlighted that any potential visitor to Nepal can have necessary visa from Vienna before travelling to Nepal along with first hand information on Nepal.
The final round of Nepal Europe Travel Summit concluded in Zurich on 19th March 2018. Nepal received overwhelming response from the outbound tour operators and media from Swiss market. Most of the tour operators present in the event were aware of Nepal’s tourism attractions in terms of mountaineering and trekking. It was observed that the interaction and networking of Nepali inbound tour operators with the Swiss outbound tour operators would be helpful to further strengthen confidence of Swiss outbound tour operators. Many of them expressed that they would look into Nepali tourism market seriously.
Nepal Tourism Board in all these cities had made destination promotion presentation and apprised the audience regarding the tourism related attractions and other necessary facts and figures on Nepal. The event of the travel Summit in each city concluded with two lucky-draws of the business cards of the attendees of the program. The winners of each event were given away 7nights/8days Nepal tour packages. The Summit saw an extensive B2B session, which was participated by five leading inbound tour operators from Nepal namely: The Explore Nepal, Ace the Himalaya Trekking, Actual Adventure Trekking, Explore Himalaya Travel & Trekking and a hotelier, Mount Kailash Resort from Pokhara.
