Nepal Tourism Board and Embassy of Nepal in Paris Successfully Organized Nepal Evening to Promote TourismThursday, March 13th, 2025

10 March 2025: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and the Embassy of Nepal in Paris jointly organized ‘Nepal Evening’ on 10 March 2025, aiming to promote Nepal as a top travel destination among French citizens. The event welcomed around 60 distinguished guests, including tourism dignitaries, diplomats, and representatives from various tourism associations in France.

Honorable Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Mr. Badri Prasad Pandey, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his address, he highlighted Nepal’s rich cultural diversity and invited French travelers to experience Nepal’s unique heritage and natural beauty. He also emphasized the recent policy reforms undertaken to promote sustainable tourism and archaeological conservation in the country.

His Excellency Mr. Sudhir Bhattarai, Ambassador of Nepal to France, spoke about the significant role of culture, religion, and heritage in boosting tourism. He underscored Nepal’s commitment to preserving its cultural assets while enhancing tourism experiences for international visitors.

Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi, Chief Executive Officer of NTB, provided insights into Nepal’s current tourism landscape and the initiatives being implemented for the promotion of Nepal’s tourism.

A special highlight of the evening was the felicitation of Ms. Elizabeth Herzog, spouse of the late Maurice Herzog, in commemoration of the first ascent of Annapurna I. Ms. Herzog expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Embassy of Nepal in Paris and NTB for the honor. She reminisced about her memorable experiences in Nepal, particularly in the Annapurna region.

During the interactive session, Honorable Minister and NTB CEO addressed queries from the attendees, providing valuable insights into Nepal’s tourism prospects. The event concluded with a delightful taste of Nepali cuisine, allowing guests to immerse themselves in Nepal’s cultural essence. Nepal promotional materials were also distributed among the attendees, further enhancing their engagement with the country’s tourism offerings.

The ‘Nepal Evening’ program successfully strengthened Nepal-France tourism ties and reinforced Nepal’s position as a must-visit destination for French travelers.
