Nepal makes strong presence at the AVIAREPS Nordic Roadshow 2019Friday, November 15th, 2019

Nepal Tourism Board participated in AVIAREPS Nordic Roadshow “Meet the World” (Nov. 11-14, 2019) held in four cities, viz., Stockholm, Helsinki, Oslo, and Copenhagen. AVIAREPS Nordic Roadshow is the first of its kind of a tourism promotional event in Nordic countries.

The Roadshow witnessed participation from key Nordic tourism stakeholders, including tour operators, airlines, travel agents, MICE facilitators and corporates to enhance networking and relationship building in the Nepalese market in order to boost Nordic arrivals to Nepal. During the Roadshow, Nepal’s unique tourism products were showcased, Visit Nepal Year 2020 campaign and events were briefed and queries regarding Nepal’s tourism were entertained. Nepal’s effort in sustainable tourism development, remarkable achievement in wildlife conservation, and unique ecotourism products were also presented among the participants.

All four Nordic countries are ranked at top 10 in terms of GDP per capita with five weeks of minimum legislated vacation per year. In an average, people from Nordic countries take two vacations in a year: short and long haul. They want to travel for experiences. Driven by curiosity, cultural aspect dominates reason for visiting a new destination. Active holidays including activities and lively experiences are growing in importance.

In order to generate interest towards Nepal, Nepal offered lucky-door prizes in every city. These included one-week full board tour of Nepal, fully paid trip to Annapurna Base Camp, and Everest Base Camp. Nepalese souvenirs were distributed among the participants.

It is the first of its kind of tie-up of NTB in Nordic countries with Aviareps — a global GSA leader with extensive expertise and build strength on network and rapport with local trade across all segments: corporate, leisure and MICE.
