Nepal Showcases Variety of Adventure Products in AlpinmesseTuesday, October 23rd, 2018

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) jointly organized and participated in Alpinmesse in Innsbruck,Austria, that was held in Oct 20-21, 2018. The fair was focused toward adventure activities, targeting adventure lovers.

NTB along with 9 representatives from the travel trade sector participated at the fair. This was Nepal’s first-time participation, and the 2-day fair showcased different activities and products related to adventure. Since Austrian outbound tourists show tremendous interests in outdoor activities, Nepal equally showcased varied adventure highlights.

Adventure is one of the top products for outbound European travelers, particularly in case of families. European travelers are always on a lookout for new adventure, and the spectra of adventure products offered by Nepal was appreciated by the visitors and local tour operators. Segments like mountaineering, trekking, mountain biking, are high on the list of “to do activities” among Austrian travelers. At the fair, the Nepal Stall highlighted wildlife experiences, adventure activities, and natural landscapes of Nepal.

In addition to participation at the fair, Nepal also organized a press conference at Alpinmesse, where Nepal was presented as a destination offering lifetime adventure experiences and a journey of a lifetime. During the press conference, journalists were also briefed about Visit Nepal Year 2020 campaign along with amazing products of Nepal.

Also present during the occasion were: Mr. Amber Bahadur Karki, Counsellor/Deputy of the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations in Austria, and Professor Wolfgang Nairz – the first Everest Summiteer from Austria. Media personal were briefed about tremendous amount of infrastructure being built around the country that is vital for offering quality tourism products. The fair was well supported by Non Resident Nepalis (NRN)-Austria who offered Nepal’s heritage cuisine and Nepali cultural dances at the program.
