NTB Celebrates 21st Anniversary on the Eve of VN 2020Tuesday, December 31st, 2019
Nepal Tourism Board celebrated its 21st Anniversary on Dec. 31, 2019. The intimate ceremony at the office premises in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, was attended by Hon’ble Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) Yogesh Bhattarai, Members of the NTB Executive Committee, immediate past CEO of NTB, representatives of the tourism industry, officials from the Government and private sector, NTB officials and the media.
At the program former NTB CEO Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi, who completed his 4-year term on Dec. 23, 2019, was applauded and felicitated by former Tourism Minister Ms. Yankila Sherpa and senior representative of Nepal’s tourism fraternity Ms. Ambica Shrestha. Mr. Joshi’s passion and dedication for the promotion of tourism of Nepal and in taking it to a new level after the 2015 earthquake was acknowledged and praised. Mr. Kashi Raj Bhandari – Sr. Director, Mr. Diwakar Bikram Rana – Sr. Manager, Mr. Samir Bajracharya – Manager, and Mr. Narayan Panta – Support Staff, who have completed 20 years of service at NTB, were also felicitated at the program. Similarly, NTB former officials were also felicitated and presented with tokens of appreciation.
Hon’ble Tourism Minister expressed best wishes to NTB on the occasion and garnered support from the industry for the success of Visit Nepal 2020. He expressed that the Government had prioritized tourism as an important tool for economic development, stressing that VN 2020 is a new beginning leading to the tourism decade where changes in the tourism industry are envisioned in leaps and bounds, to make tourism a strong backbone of the national economy.
NTB Executive Committee Members Mr. Deepak Mahat and Ms. Pampha Dhamala, shared their working experience at NTB and expressed faith in working together with NTB to reach new milestones for the promotion of Nepal’s tourism in the coming days. Similarly, former CEO of NTB Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi thanked the Government, private sector and NTB for the support extended to him for his successful tenure and extended best wishes to the tourism industry to gain greater heights in the coming years.
NTB Officiating CEO Ms. Nandini Lahe-Thapa had warmly welcomed the guests at the beginning of the program, while Sr. Director Mr. Hikmat Singh Ayer gave the vote of thanks. NTB Employees’ Union Mr. Kundan Sharma, Sr. Officer, also spoke briefly on employee issues at the program.
