Following this agreement, the two organizations have agreed to collaborate in the promotion and concept development. The MOU was signed on behalf of NTB by CEO Dr. Dhananjay Regmi and FNCCI President Mr. Shekhar Golchha.

According to the agreement, the concept of emerging tourism trends will be developed and exchanged by organizing meetings between tourism stakeholders at various levels while cooperation will be made in improving Nepal’s various international and domestic airports and improving other tourism related services. Similarly, cooperation in digital marketing as well as international marketing of Nepal, capacity building of tourism related stakeholders, potential tourism products (hill station, park, public toilets) were the other points discussed during the program.
CEO of NTB, Dr. Dhananjay Regmi, stated that tourism in Nepal could be developed through collaboration with the private sector. He mentioned that the FNCCI initiative was positive and that NTB is always willing to work towards it. ‘NTB has focused its own programs on border tourism promotion, but the federation’s proposal to organize other tourism-related programs can also be considered,’ he said. According to Dr. Regmi, NTB has been organizing tourism fairs and marts in Nepalgunj, Dharan, and Dhangadhi to promote cross-border tourism in Nepal.
President of FNCCI, Mr. Shekhar Golchha, proposed organizing a major program soon with the participation of all tourism-related organizations to revitalize the tourism industry, which has been crippled by COVID. ‘Tourism infrastructure development, public transportation, and quality improvement have all become critical.’ Furthermore, Nepal should take the initiative to attract high-quality tourists. It is expected that collaboration will yield positive results. He stated. Mr. Golchha said that it was critical to develop and expand Tribhuvan International Airport as a tourist destination, as well as to make Bhairahawa Airport the cheapest and most accessible airport in the region.
Ms. Nandini Lahe Thapa, Senior Director of NTB, spoke on the occasion, saying that the collaboration between the two organizations was positive and would send a new message to Nepal’s tourism industry. According to Ms. Jyotsana Shrestha, President of the FNCCI Tourism and Air Transport Committee, the collaboration was formed to help the burgeoning tourism industry. FNCCI Director General Mr. Gokarna Raj Awasthi expressed his commitment to moving forward with the work as soon as possible in accordance with the understanding.
