Nepal Tourism Board Participates in Guangzhou International Travel Fair (GITF) 2024Sunday, May 19th, 2024
Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in co-ordination with PATA Nepal Chapter participated in 32nd edition of Guangzhou International Travel Fair (GITF) held in China Import and Export Fair Centre, Canton Complex, Guangzhou, China from May 16 to 18, 2024.
The slogan of the event was “Innovation, The Inspiration to Future of Culture and Tourism”
Mr. Saroj Bhattrai, Acting Consul General of Nepal to Guangzhou, attended the opening ceremony on Nepal’s behalf.
The fair being held for the first time after the pandemic, had successful B2B and B2C sessions over 3 days from 16th to 18th May 2024 in Guangzhou, China. A total of over 1,00,000 attendees attended the fair that attracted considerable media attention from different local and international media members, travel bloggers and high-profile international tourism professionals.
Nepal delegation led by Nepal Tourism Board & PATA Nepal Chapter including 7 companies from travel tourism and hospitality industry participated the grand event as exhibitors. At the same time, a team of 16 tour operators from Pokhara led by NATTA Gandaki Province also attended the fair as trade visitors. Nepal stall showcased nature, culture, adventure, religious and geographical aspects of tourism.
Nepal Tourism Board participated in sideline event of GITF, Guangzhou on 16th of May 2024. A presentation on Nepal by Mr. Kundan Sharma, Sr. Officer, Nepal Tourism Board and highlighted various aspects of Nepalese tourism and urged everyone to visit Nepal. He further shed light on the cordial relationship of Nepal with China and the significance of Chinese Tourist in Nepalese Tourism. A Panel Discussion on Nepalese Tourism hosted by GITF and moderated by Prof. Lee was an insightful event for all interested in Nepal’s tourism. Mr. Kundan Sharma, Sr. Officer- NTB, Mr. Suresh Singh Budal CEO -PATA Nepal Chapter, and Ms. Lakpa Phuti Sherpa from Luxury DMC Travel Pvt. Ltd. attended the discussion as panelists and emphasized tourism potentials of Nepal for Chinese Visitors.
The GITF fair was a platform for various awards to its deserving participants. GITF acknowledged Nepal Tourism Board with “Most Popular Cultural Tourism Destination Award 2024”, PATA Nepal chapter with “Best Partner Award” and Jugal Holidays from Nepal with “Gold Award” for product innovation in the fair.
