Nepal Tourism Board Successfully Organizes Nepal Night in GenevaWednesday, March 26th, 2025

Geneva, March 25, 2025 – Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations in Geneva, successfully organized a high-profile Destination Promotion Program – “Nepal Night” on March 24, 2025—the event aimed to enhance Nepal’s tourism presence in the Swiss market and regions around it.

The evening witnessed the distinguished presence of around 60 participants, including diplomats, government officials, travel trade professionals, media representatives, and tourism stakeholders from Switzerland and beyond. H.E. Mr. Ram Prasad Subedi, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Nepal to the UN in Geneva, delivered the welcome remarks, setting the tone for an engaging and informative session on Nepal’s tourism potential.

The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Binod Prakash Singh, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation & Chairman of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). He highlighted Nepal’s natural beauty, cultural richness, adventure opportunities, and warm hospitality, urging Swiss travellers to explore Nepal. He also emphasised the longstanding diplomatic ties between Nepal and Switzerland since 1956, noting the geographical similarities between the two nations and Switzerland’s significant contributions to Nepal’s development, particularly in infrastructure, technical assistance, and tourism promotion. He also remembered Dr. Toni Hagen, the renowned Swiss geologist and explorer whose pioneering work played a crucial role in introducing Nepal to the world. He called upon Swiss tour operators and media representatives to actively promote Nepal as a premier travel destination.

A comprehensive presentation on Nepal’s tourism offerings was delivered by Mr. Khadga Bikram Shah, Senior Manager of NTB, showcasing Nepal’s breathtaking landscapes, diverse tourism products, and recent policy initiatives. The session was moderated by Mr. Kundan Sharma Mishra, Senior Officer at NTB. 

Director General, Department of Tourism Dr. Narayan Prasad Regmi, expressed his gratitude to all participants and reiterated Nepal’s readiness to welcome more Swiss tourists and investors.

Additionally, a lucky draw was held, offering attendees a chance to win an exclusive 7-day Nepal trip. The grand prize was won by His Excellency Mr. Gennady Gatilov, Ambassador – Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations.  

The event concluded with a networking dinner, where attendees engaged in productive discussions on tourism collaboration.
