Nepal Tourism draws Massive Interest from India OutboundTuesday, June 20th, 2023
Nepal Tourism Board recently concluded a series of destination and business promotion sessions in six cities of South and West India with resounding success that promised a strong revival of Indian outbound to Nepal as India continue to surge to the top source market for Nepal.
NTB organized Nepal Sales Mission in South India in Kochi, Coimbatore and Madhurai on 7, 9 and 12 June, 2023 respectively where more than 200 Indian tour operators and media were present. With the completion of the South India Sales Mission, NTB has also successfully organized the Sales Mission in West Indian cities with third and last leg of the program in Surat on June 19, 2023 with B2B meetings between Nepali and Indian Tour Operators. Nepal Tourism Board leading a strong contingent of 14 tourism companies, successfully organized B2B events in the cities of Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat on 14, 16 and 19 June 2023 respectively. The primary objective of these Sales Mission was to create the platform for business to business dealing and also educate the Indian Tour Operators and media about the new tourism products, attractions and offerings of Nepal in post covid revival attempt. A total of 250 Indian tour operators and media were briefed about the Nepalese tourism scenario. A destination presentation of Nepal was center of attraction and was highly commended by the India Tourism fraternities and media personnel. These events provided an opportunity for Indian travel industry professionals including tour operators, travel agents and media representatives to explore the vast tourism offerings of Nepal in new avenues.
These 6 cities Sales Mission in South and West India were organized after 3 years of gap solely with an objective to disseminate the message that Nepal is fully prepared to welcome the Indian tourists in Nepal as the scenario has completely changed post covid. Nepal not only offers adventure and spiritual activities but Nepal offers everything for everyone irrespective of their age or gender. Nepal is all season destination offering “lifetime experiences”. With the rise of new properties and some wonderful niche activities the horizon of Nepalese tourism has upscaled and India tourists can enjoy any segment of it. These efforts were well appreciated by the Indian Tourism Fraternities and media representatives.
Nepal, despite being renowned as an adventure destination, queries for luxury, wellness and leisure were also observed massively during the B2B sessions. India serves as 30% of the total tourist arrivals via air. This year also till May 2023, Indian Tourist arrival has surged to 1,28,760 from which we can see the recovery of about 90% compared to the year 2019 pre-covid level.
