Nepal Will Be At “Venice Biennale” 2022 for the First TimeThursday, April 7th, 2022

Nepal is all set to take part in the ‘Venice Biennale’ in Italy for the first time. Nepal will be participating in the 59th edition of the International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia-2022, with support of the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Culture Tourism and Civil Aviation, Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, and Siddhartha Arts Foundation, as well as major international support from Ruben Museum of Art in New York, United States. The Biennale will take place from April 23 to Nov. 27, 2022.

Artist Mr. Tshering Sherpa will be presenting his artwork under the theme,” Tales of Muted Spirits – Dispersed Threads – Twisted Shangri–La” curated by Ms. Sheelasha Rajbhandari and Mr. Hitman Gurung in Nepal Pavilion. Sherpa is a prominent artist in the field of contemporary Nepali art. The following information was revealed at a press conference organized by Nepal Academy of Fine Arts and Siddhartha Arts Foundation in Kathmandu on April 6, 2022, Wednesday. The art work being displayed at Venice Biennale will focus on various important topics from Nepal and the Himalayan region in collaboration with Nepali artists, as announced at the press conference.

According to Mr. K.K. Karmacharya, Vice-Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) , Nepal’s participation in this art festival will contribute significantly for the global recognition of Nepali art. Similarly, Ms. Sangeeta Thapa, Director of Siddhartha Arts Foundation, stated that it was critical for Nepal to participate in such programs and hoped for the Government’s support to ensure continuation.

नेपालले पहिलोपटक ‘भेनिस वियनाले’मा सहभागिता जनाउँदै

नेपालले पहिलोपटक इटलीको ‘भेनिस वियनाले’ कला महोत्सवमा  सहभागिता जनाउने भएको छ ।  नेपाल सरकार, संस्कृति , पर्यटन तथा नागरिक उड्ययन मन्त्रालय, नेपाल ललितकला प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठान तथा सिद्धार्थ  आर्ट्स फाउन्डेसनको सह–आयोजना तथा रुबेन म्युजियमको प्रमुख अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय सहयोगमा ५९औ अन्तराष्ट्रिय कला प्रदर्शनी (ला बिएनाले दे भेनेजिया — २०२२) मा नेपालले पहिलोे पटक सहभागिता जनाउन लागेको हो । महोत्सव २३ अप्रिल २०२२ देखि २७ नोबेम्बर २०२२ सम्म चल्ने छ । ने यस्तो महोत्सव सन १८९५ देखि शरु भएको हो ।

नेपाल  पविलियनमा क्युरेटरद्वय शीलाशा राजभण्डारी र हितमान गुरुङको क्युरेसनमा कलाकार छिरिङ शेर्पा का Tales of  Muted Spirits – Dispersed Threads – Twisted Shangri–La कलाकृतिहरुको प्रदर्शन हुने नेपाल ललितकला प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठान तथा सिद्धार्थ  आर्ट्स फाउन्डेसनले बुधबार काठमाण्डौमा आयोजना गरेको पत्रकार सम्मेलनमा जानकारी दिइयो ।

यस कला महोत्सवमा नेपालको सहभागीताले नेपाली मौलिक कलालाई विश्वभरी चिनाउन महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिने नेपाल ललितकला प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठानका कुलपति के.के कर्माचार्यले जानकारी दिनुभयो । यस्तै सिद्धार्थ  आर्ट्स फाउन्डेसनका निर्देशक संगीता थापाले नेपालले यस्तो कार्यक्रममा सहभागिता जनाउनु नै महत्वपूर्ण कार्य भएको भन्दै यसको निरन्तरताको लागि सरकामबाट सहयोगको अपेक्षा गरेको बताउनु भयो ।

सो कार्यक्रममा थाङ्काचित्रमा प्रशिक्षित छिरिङ्ग शेर्पा, क्युरेटरहरु शीलाशा राजभण्डारी र हितमान गुरुङ लगमयतका नेपाली कलाकारले सहभागिता जनाउनु हुनेछ । शेर्पा नेपालको समकालिन कलामा अग्रणी स्थान राख्ने कलाकार हुनुहुन्छ । बिएनाले २०२२ का लागि देशका विभिन्न कलाकारहरुसङ्गको सहकार्यबाट श्रुति परम्परा, भाषा तथा दैनिक परम्परामा  सम्मिलित संकथनहरुको साझा इतिहासबाट निर्मित अतिततर्फ संकेत गर्दै नेपाल तथा बृहत हिमाली क्षेत्रकाबारे  समस्याग्रस्त अन्तरविरोधी भाष्यहरुलाई प्रश्न गर्नुहुने पत्रकार सम्मेलनमा जानकारी दिइयो ।
