NTB board member and tourism entrepreneur, Mr. Ngawa Ngima Sherpa has been appointed by the Korean government as the chairperson of the Korean Alpine Federation’s Liaison Office in Nepal. Sherpa received the certificate of the chairperson of Nepal’s liaison office at a ceremony commemorating the federation’s 60th anniversary in Seoul, Korea. Mr. Sherpa and his wife Ms. Rajeshwari Sherpa were honored at the event. Sherpa, who has worked with Korean tourists and mountaineers since 1995, will now oversee the Korean mountaineers visiting Nepal as chairperson of the Nepal Liaison Office. In response to the honor, he stated that the responsibility and honor bestowed by the Korean government was given on all of Nepal and Nepalese. He also said that he would do everything in his power to bring more Korean tourists to Nepal. As the President of the Alpine Federation’s Liaison Office in Nepal, Sherpa will liaise and coordinate with climbers from Korea while exploring new areas of promotion of Nepal in Korea. The Korean Alpine Federation acts as the government agency authorizing most of the Korean government’s sports and mountaineering activities. Similarly, Sherpa, the director of Sora Adventure Treks and Expeditions, has been Seoul National University’s representative for Nepal since 2019.
