NTB organized a virtual interaction between tourism entrepreneurs from Nepal and Sri LankaMonday, October 18th, 2021

Nepal Tourism Board organized a virtual interaction between tourism entrepreneurs from Nepal and Sri Lanka to synergize efforts to promote tourism in both countries on Sept. 30. At the program, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Nepal Her Excellency Himali Subhashini Arunatilaka, as well as CEO of NTB Dr. Dhananjay Regmi, Executive Director (CEO), expressed the need for close cooperation for prompt revival of tourism from the respective market in both the countries. Mr. Paddy Paul, a member of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, was also part of the program and participated in the virtual interaction.

Representatives from various private sector organizations in Nepal and Sri Lanka attended the interaction program. Mr. Achyut Guragain, President of the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), stated that tourism would prosper in both countries if the industry of Nepal and Sri Lanka would collaborate. While, spiritual and adventure tourism are prime attractions for Sri Lankan tourists in Nepal, wildlife and maritime tourism in Sri Lanka is highly appealing to Nepali tourists. The connection of Kathmandu to Colombo with direct flights is expected to help further in growth of tourism of Sri Lanka to Nepal and vice versa.
