Opening of Homestays in Syangja


Familiarization trip was conducted to Sirubari in association with Sirubari Community Homestay and Domestic Tourism Revival Committee Syangja on Feb. 9 and 10 announcing the opening of Sirubari affected by the Covid Pandemic. Earlier on Feb. 8 a press conference was held at NTB Pokhara to announce the opening of Homestays in Sirubari. A total of 60 members including journalist participated in the event.

Interaction Program with Far West


Nepal Tourism Board Gandaki Province organized an interaction program on Feb. 11 along with stakeholders of Pokhara with visiting Domestic Tourism Revival Committee executive members of Far West, NATTA Far West and Hotel Association Nepal officials in Pokhara to discuss tourism cooperation between Far West and Gandaki Province for the recovery of tourism. Altogether 37 participants attended the event.

Digital Trainings


Focusing on the need to conduct businesses with application of digital technologies (Social Media, Mobile apps, Email, Websites ) Nepal Tourism Board, Gandaki Province supported Digital and Social Media Marketing training organized by Tourism Entrepreneur Women Association Nepal (TEWAN) held in Lakeside, Pokhara from 11 and 12 Feb. Around 70 trainees participated in the training.

15th Safal Pokhara International Marathon


NTB Gandaki Province supported 15th Safal Pokhara International Marathon organized by Ex-sportsman Forum with the slogan ‘Sports For Health For Pokhara’ . The event took place on February 13 from Pokhara Stadium where there were 209 runners in male section (42.19 km) whereas there were 29 female runners for half marathon (21 km). The winner in the Man’s section was Mr. Rajan Rokaya from Tribhuvan Army Club who completed the race in 2 hours and 28 minutes whereas the women’s section was won by Ms. Rajpura Pachhai from Nepal Police in 1 hour and 27 minutes.

Pumdikot Familiarization Trek


To promote internal tourism, Nepal Tourism Board Gandaki Province supported one-day Familiarization Trek to Pumdikot, Kalabang, Bhumdikot, Chapakot and Pame organized by Women Tourism Entrepreneurs Forum (WOTEF) on February 14. Around 104 tourism related professionals including Journalists participated in the event which lasted for around 5 hours providing scenic views of valley and mountains.

Ligligkot Cycle Rally

NTB Gandaki Province supported a cycle rally organized by Paluntar Municipality on Feb. 19. The cycle path covered a distance of 52.9 km comprising of Palungtar Municipality, Siranchowk and Rinus Municipality. The rally was organized for the preservation of history, culture and environment and to establish the identity of the place as a cyclist destination.

Promotion of homestays and pilgrimage in Syangja

Nepal Tourism Board , Gandaki Province supported Putalibazar Municipality in Syangja district to organize a program for exposure visit to Swargadwari in Pyuthan and orientation program to the student of Panini Gurukul in Syangja on March 2. The objective of the program is to train and familiarize the students in tourism sector.
Similarly, members of Tourism Entrepreneurs Women Association of Nepal (TEWAN) visited Dhadhey homestay in Syangja and shared their tourism business/skills with the homestay operators.

Jau Hai Pokhara campaign


To promote and develop internal tourism, Nepal Tourism Board Gandaki Province supported ” Jau Hai Pokhara” campaign to Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, Dhangadi, Mahendranagar and Bardiya organized by Paschimanchal Hotel Association Pokhara on 5-8 March. Around 16 tourism related professionals including journalists participated in the event from Pokhara.
The main objective of the program was welcome and invite the people of these places to visit Pokhara and other tourist places of the province.

Mardi Fam Trek and orientation


NTB Gandaki supported Trekking Equipments Shops Association (TESA) for organizing familiarization trek to Mardi Himal enroute Pokhara, Australian Camp, Pothana forest camp, Badal Daanda, High camp, View Point, Shiding and return to Pokhara from March 14-17. During the treks the participants were also given special orientation of trekking equipments and accessories for safety and comfort.

Fewa lake Cleaning campaign


NTB , Gandaki Province supported a cleaning campaign of a certain part of Phewa Lake located near the Board’s premise organized by Damside Locality Development Association, Pokhara on March 20, 21. The event marked the completion of 203 weeks of cleaning campaign in different parts of Pokhara.

Ghalekharka- Tara hilltop- Sikles Fam Trek


To promote and develop internal tourism, Nepal Tourism Board Gandaki Province supported a Familiarization trek to Bhujrungkhola, Ghalekharka,Tara Hilltop-Sikles trail organized by All Nepal Tourism Workers Union on 23-26 March. Around 26 tourism professionals including journalists participated in the event.

Digital and Social Media Training


NTB Gandaki Province supported Digital and social media marketing training organized by Pokhara Tourism Council (PTC) on 24 and 25 March with an aim to make entrepreneurs capable and sustainable with application of digital technologies in the operation and marketing of their business. Around 50 trainees participated in the training.

Domestic Tourism Revival Sub-Committee formed in different districts


In order to neutralize the impact of Covid Pandemic and build the confidence of domestic travelers to visit different parts of the Gandaki province, Domestic Tourism Revival Sub- Committees were formed in different districts like Tanhaun, Lamjung, Gorkha, Myagdi, Parbat for district level coordination of tourism revival activities in the Province. The different committees at the district levels shall organize promotional activities in coordination with the Main Domestic Tourism Revival Committees (DTRC) formed on 3 Jan, 2021 under the coordinatorship of Mr. Agni Kadel, a tourism entrepreneurs based in Pokhara.
Mr. Agni Kandel is the coordinator , Mr. Bikal Tulachan, Mr. Sanjay Kant Sigdel , Mr. Naresh Bhattarai and Mr. Gopi Bhattarai are Joint coordinators and there are 16 members in the Committee. The Committee is backed by an advisory group of 9 tourism experts.
