Similar calls were also received from the key Indian Tour Operators so that they can make their travel packages to Nepal more exciting which will eventually extend the length of stay and enhance their travel experiences.
As Nepal is celebrating the year 2020 as ‘Visit Nepal Year’ with the theme ‘Lifetime Experiences’, this initiative of NTB has further been successful in communicating with the Indian trade and media about the new tourism products and events in 2020. NTB used this platform to share the Nepal’s success stories of resilience in the past and extended Nepal’s sincere appreciation to Indian trade and media for each and every support and cooperation to Nepalese tourism in difficult times.

India has always been the major source market for Nepal. Many tier 2 and 3 cities in India have been observing rapid economic growth with the increase of disposable income. The fast emergence of Indian middle class has drawn the attention of many Asian tourism destinations to attract them to their countries. Nepal always enjoys the competitive advantages over these Asian tourism destinations for welcoming the Indian tourists in Nepal because of the easy access, no visa policy and cultural similarity.
All the events in these cities received active and overwhelming participation of key Indian trade and media. Mr. Rohini Prasad Khanal, Manager of NTB made extensive product presentation which comprised of existing and new tourism products and services of Nepal. The programs in all cities were also addressed by the Association representatives of the leading Indian Tour operators and discussed about the various dimension of experiences that Indian visitors can get by visiting Nepal. NTB conducted fun quiz among the attendees on the tourism products and services. The winners of the quizzes in each city were offered bumper prizes including holiday packages to Nepal.
The Indian market continues to be the number one contributor of international visitor arrivals to Nepal. Last year, Nepal recorded 200438 Indian visitor arrivals by air which was 25 percent growth over 2017.
