NTB Welcomes New Chairman; Newly Appointed Board Members Take OathTuesday, June 3rd, 2025

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) officially welcomed Mr. Hariprasad Mainali, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, as the new Chairman of the Board. A formal welcome and interaction program was organized at NTB on June 3, 2025, where Chairman Mainali was received with warm regards by NTB officials and stakeholders.

During the same program, newly appointed Executive Committee members Mr. Narendra Dev Bhatt and Mr. Kumar Mani Thapaliya were sworn in and took an oath of secrecy in the presence of NTB leadership and officials. The new members bring rich expertise from the private tourism sector, including leadership in luxury adventure tourism and national tourism associations.

Welcoming the new leadership, NTB Chief Executive Officer Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi expressed confidence that Secretary Mainali and the new board members will inject fresh energy, ideas, and direction into Nepal’s tourism development. “The experience and vision brought by the Secretary and new members will help strengthen national and international partnerships for tourism transformation,” said CEO Joshi. “Our focus will remain on sustainable growth and collaborative progress.”

Speaking at the event, Chairman Mainali emphasized the importance of tourism as a foundation of Nepal’s prosperity. “Tourism creates jobs, generates revenue, and carries Nepal’s identity to the global stage,” he said. He also pledged to play a facilitative and problem-solving role as an administrative leader, adding, “Though our tenure is limited, we aim to leave behind meaningful contributions that strengthen Nepal’s tourism sector.”

Chairman Mainali further highlighted the importance of collective effort and efficient policy implementation to advance Nepal’s tourism goals. His commitment was echoed by the newly appointed board members, who emphasized synergy between experience and innovation to steer the sector forward.

Also present at the program were Vice Chairman of the Board, Mr. Kamal Sapkota, and Board Member Mr. Rajendra Lama and Joint Secretary of the Ministry, Ms. Indu Ghimire, along with NTB officials, and staff.
