NTB Welcomes Newly-Appointed SecretaryWednesday, November 4th, 2020
Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) welcomed the newly-appointed Secretary to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism & Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) Mr. Yadav Prasad Koirala at the Board premises on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020/ Kartik 19, 2077. Members of the NTB Executive Committee, NTB CEO and officials welcomed the Secretary, who is also the Ex Officio Chairman of the Board Executive Committee.
Acknowledging the unprecedented loss borne by the tourism industry of Nepal due to the global pandemic COVID-19, Secretary Mr. Koirala called for innovative plan and action in coordination with the private sector for quick recovery and uplifting of tourism. He also expressed hope in the resilience of the industry and faith in tourism as one of the key tools for economic development of Nepal.
Speaking at the program, Member of NTB Executive Committee Mr. Deepak Mahat, requested firmer steps for implementation of Government-planned programs to sustain the private sector to through the current challenges.
As a part of the welcome program to the Secretary, NTB CEO Dr. Dhananjay Regmi made a presentation on NTB and its working modality. Dr. Regmi also stressed on NTB’s tangible steps and continuous effort to lead and facilitate the private sector and tourism industry in the face of the crisis.
President of the NTB Employees’ Union Mr. Kundan Mishra also welcomed the Secretary on behalf of the officials of NTB and apprised him of employee concerns.
