NTBEO Celebrates 26th Anniversary of NTB with Table Tennis TournamentSaturday, December 28th, 2024

Commemorating Nepal Tourism Board’s (NTB) 26th anniversary, the Nepal Tourism Board Employees Organization (NTBEO) organized a Table Tennis Competition as part of the annual sports program on December 27, 2024. The event aimed to foster team building and celebrate NTB’s milestone through active staff participation.

The competition was inaugurated with a friendly match between NTB CEO Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi and renowned national and international table tennis champion Nabita Shrestha, an eight-time national gold medalist and recipient of multiple international accolades. Speaking on the occasion, CEO Joshi commended NTBEO’s efforts in commemorating the organization’s anniversary through engaging sports activities. “Such events not only encourage camaraderie among employees but also highlight NTB’s commitment to promoting a culture of teamwork and health,” said Joshi.

Sharing her thoughts, Nabita Shrestha expressed her happiness about table tennis being included in NTB’s annual sports calendar and its role in celebrating NTB’s anniversary. “It’s wonderful to see sports being embraced as part of organizational culture,” said Shrestha. She wished for the successful execution of the competition and encouraged employees to actively participate in such events.

Senior Director Ms. Nandini Lahe Thapa also extended her best wishes for the competition and praised NTBEO for their initiative in organizing this event. The tournament witnessed the enthusiastic presence of senior directors, directors, managers, and support staff, fostering a vibrant and inclusive environment.

In the men’s category, Mr. Surendra Prajapati Dheke emerged as the champion, followed by Mr. Pratik Dhakal as the first runner-up and Mr. Sitaram Dahal as the second runner-up. In the women’s category, Ms. Rama Dahal secured the top position, with Ms. Sakina Miya as the first runner-up and Ms. Rikhiya Rai as the second runner-up.

NTBEO, the official employee organization of NTB, has been instrumental in fostering the personal and professional growth of employees through initiatives like annual sports events. These activities not only contribute to the collective growth of the organization but also strengthen bonds among staff members. NTBEO President Mr. Kundan Sharma Mishra encouraged all employees to participate in such friendship matches, emphasizing their role in enhancing team spirit and organizational harmony.

Looking ahead, NTBEO has also scheduled a futsal tournament on December 29, promising another exciting event in the NTB’s annual sports calendar. The events are coordinated by Mr. Gokul Bhandari, Secretary of NTBEO.
