NTB’s Response to Concerns Regarding NTB’s Fest/Mart Participation Registration ProcessThursday, January 16th, 2025
Dear Tourism Industry Friends of Nepal,
Thank you for sharing your concerns regarding the participation registration process for
NTB-coordinated Fairs/Marts/Expos/Sales Missions. We appreciate your engagement and
give us an opportunity to clarify these matters.
The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has implemented an online registration system to streamline
the process and ensure a transparent, fair, and first-come, first-served selection for interested
participants. We are confident in the system’s integrity and are happy to demonstrate its
workings if required.
Here’s a brief outline of how the process is conducted
- Notification: The notice/call for participation is shared via tourism associations, printed in
the Gorkhapatra Daily, and published on NTB’s official media channels. - Registration: The online registration system starts and records the exact time and date of
to ensure impartiality. Entries are processed automatically, eliminating the possibility of
manual interference or favoritism.
The system is designed to be efficient and unbiased. If any technical issues are reported
during the registration period, they are thoroughly investigated to ensure by a team so that
no party is unfairly disadvantaged.
We acknowledge the growing interest and demand for participation this year, which has
significantly exceeded booth capacity. While booths were allocated based on past
participation numbers, this year we received applications 3 to 5 times higher than expected.
So we humbly request you all to understand that this is not an issue of favoritism or
manipulation but rather a limitation in booth space.
We deeply value the increasing enthusiasm and interest in promoting your businesses. To
address this, TB will actively work on increasing booth capacity for key fairs, marts, and
expos in the upcoming fiscal year.
We welcome your feedback and suggestions for further improvements to the system. NTB
remains committed to fostering collaboration and trust with the private sector, ensuring
Nepal’s tourism promotion efforts are impactful and inclusive.
We are committed to prioritizing transparency, fairness, and equal opportunities for all
stakeholders.
Thank you for your understanding and continued cooperation.
