Nepal Tourism Board Provincial Office in Pokhara supported a series of programs to mark the 41the World Tourism Day in Pokhara on Sept 27, 2020  with an aim send positive messages and revive tourism from the effects of the current Pandemic. 
Realizing the importance of tourism in Gandaki Province, the day was marked by high level participation led by Chief Minister and Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment, Nepal Tourism Board Gandaki Province and private sector travel trade representatives.

To observe the World Tourism Day 2020 in tune with the delineated theme,” Tourism and Rural Development” several media highlighted the Rural Tourism in Nepal featuring the pioneering tourism villages like Sirubari, Ghalegaon along with Homestays in Nepal.

​Furthermore, webinar on potential of rural tourism promotion and development of Gandaki Province especially during and post COVID-19 and an observation tour of the Phewa Lake, second largest lake in Nepal, were conducted to explore the possibility of pedestrian trail and eco-tourism activities around the Lake. The program was organised by Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal, Pokhara and supported by Nepal Tourism Board, Gandaki Province Office.

Pokhara, the headquarters of the Gandaki Province, which is also promoted as the tourism capital of the country, offers the stunning views of Mt. Fishtail, probably the most beautiful mountain peak in the world. There are plethora of leisure activities for holiday makers and sport activities that pump adrenaline rush among the adventure seekers . It is also a gateway to the Annapurna region, which is a home to several trekking trails, many of them are ranked as the top trekking trails in the world. The Province also has several pilgrimage sites such as Muktinath which are revered equally by Hindus and Buddhist.
