Restart & Reset Travel 2.0 with BBC Global News and PATA IndiaTuesday, August 10th, 2021
Nepal Tourism Board participated a webinar on Restart & Restart Travel 2.0 with BBC Global News and PATA India on August 10, 2021 virtually. The webinar was organized with an objective to discuss about the practices and stategies being practiced by India and Nepal to revive travel and tourism after the second wave of Covid -19.
Dr. Dhananjay Regmi, CEO of Nepal Tourism Board shared the status of tourism of Nepal and the impacts of the pandemic in Nepal’s Tourism and the measures Nepal has taken as a way forward. Dr. Regmi shared the initiations Nepal has done to retain the informal skilled workforce of Tourism who are more vulnerable to the impacts of the pandemic. Further, Dr. Regmi emphasized on the opportunities offered by the pandemic for the global tourism fraternity to rethink and opt for sustainable tourism. Further, Dr. Regmi highlighted the possible partnership Nepal and India can have for future tourism prospects of both countries.
In the webinar, Mr. Arvind Singh, Ministry of Tourism India- Secretary shared the status and impacts of Covid in India’s Tourism. The program was followed by the panel discussion where different private and government officials of India shared their thoughts on the impacts and possible measures to minimize the impacts of Covid. The webinar highlighted the need of rebooting and restarting of travel in India and Nepal.
