Stakeholders Meet for Tourism RecoveryMonday, December 28th, 2015
KATHMANDU, Nepal, May 25, 2015 – Meeting was conducted today on 25 May 2015 at Nepal Tourism Board with participation from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Department of Archaeology and Tourism Recovery Committee.
Mr. Bhesh Narayan Dahal, Director General of the Department of Archaeology positively confirmed that they will open Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swoyambhunath and Patan Durbar Square for the tourists officially on June 15, 2015. He further added that Boudhanath, Budhanilkantha and Pashupatinath were safe enough to take the tourists for sightseeing even today.
Mr. Suresh Man Shrestha, Secretary of Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation emphasized on the necessity for international media marketing and FAM trips for celebrities, tour operators and travel writers to Nepal. He said this would provide a clear picture of what we still have to offer after 25/04. HAN has committed on providing complimentary accommodation and NATO will be handling the ground transportation and guide for the group.
The Joint Secretaries of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Director General of the Department of Tourism, Immediate and past Director Generals of Department of Archaeology, Presidents of the Tourism Organizations, Executive Committee members of Nepal Tourism Board and Administrative Chief of Nepal Tourism Board showed their solidarity in the decisions made.
