Rt. Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi congratulated Shri Shivkrupananda Swami and extended to him best wishes for appointment as Tourism Goodwill Ambassador of Nepal for Visit Nepal 2020.

NA to Fly Narita International Airport, Japan

After announcing the first flight to Osaka International Airport of Japan from Aug. 29, Nepal Airlines was given approval for chartered flights permission to Narita International Airport in Japan. The chartered flight will be conducted in Airbus 330 wide-body aircraft of Nepal Airlines and the flight will take more than 7 hours each leg.

 

Destination Selling Workshops in Pokhara & Chitwan

Dr. Bert Van Walbeek is set to conduct 2-day Human Capacity Development Training Workshops on the topic “The Art of Selling Destination Nepal: Sustainable and Profitable!” in Pokhara and Chitwan, with the aim to enhance awareness of MICE stakeholders about selling and promoting, both to Special Interest Tourism (SIT) & Meeting, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibition (MICE) market segments. The workshops are scheduled in Pokhara on Aug. 9-10, 2019, and in Chitwan on Aug. 13-14, 2019,

Janai Purnima – Aug. 15
 
Janai Purnima is a Hindu festival celebrated all over the country, with family get together and feasts of Kwati or sprout lentils. This day is also a harbinger of rejuvenation with Hindu men renewing their ‪Janai and people flocking to Shiva temples in different parts of the country. It is a big day to observe Shaman culture.

 

Gai Jatra – Aug. 16
 
Gai Jatra is a festival of dancing, singing, mirth and laughter. The festival of cow is celebrated in the Kathmandu Valley to commemorate the death of loved ones.  As part of the festival family members of the deceased of the past year send people mostly children. dressed as cows to parade on the streets.The festival usually falls in July or August.
