NATAS Holidays 2019 in Singapore successfully concluded with enthusiastic participation from the trade fraternity and the general public. Four tour companies from the private sector tourism industry of Nepal participated in the fair led by Nepal Tourism Board.

 

Tourist Police Launches Tourist-Friendly App

Tourist Police Nepal launched a tourist mobile app on Aug. 8, 2019, with the objective of helping tourists travelling in Nepal. Tourists can use this app to report complaints of any discrimination or offence against them. The app also provides essential information such as “do’s and don’ts” for tourists, helpline numbers and nearby police stations.

Krishna Ashtami – Aug. 23, 2019
The birthday of Lord Krishna is celebrated as Krishna Ashtami. Krishna, the dark-skinned god revered as a manifestation of Lord Vishnu, who taught warrior Arjun the value of karma in the Bhagawad Gita, was born at midnight on the eighth day of the dark half of the month of Bhadra which is known as Ashtami.

To celebrate the birthday of this popular Hindu god, devotees flock to Krishna temples all over Nepal. Kathmandu Valley’s Krishna Mandir in Patan Durbar Square is the centre of celebrations and is thronged by a large number of devotees who gather at night to pay homage beyond mid-night.

The Yak Attack – Nov. 9–20, 2019
