Tourism Ministry Interacts with Diplomatic Missions Based in Ktm
 
The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) hosted an interaction session with representatives of Diplomatic Missions in Kathmandu to collect ideas on working together to make the Visit Nepal 2020 campaign a mega success. The event was organized by the Visit Nepal 2020 Committee with an overwhelming presence of Diplomats and representatives of Diplomatic Missions based in Kathmandu. The meeting was chaired by Hon’ble Minister for Culture, Tourism & Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai.

 

Empowering and Promoting the Hospitality Industry through XcelTrip
 
XcelTrip Nepal has partnered with Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) to promote Nepal’s tourism and Visit Nepal 2020 to shoulder the mutual mission of 2 million. One of the aims of XcelTrip is to attract millions of travellers to Nepal from around the world to supplement efforts made by the government to bring in 2 million tourists on the occasion of Visit Nepal Year 2020.

 

NTB´s Managers Interact with Thai Journalists
NTB´s Managers updated a team of journalists from Thailand about tourism places, chief attractions and VNY 2020 programs especially highlighting the theme of Lifetime Experience. Arrivals from Thailand has increased by 39 percent in 2019 compared to ten months (Jan-Oct) data of 2018.

 

Interaction with Bloggers from India

Interaction with bloggers from India at Nepal Tourism Board on Dec. 1, 2019. The bloggers had just got back from the Annapurna Base Camp. They were thrilled with the experience and suggested that Nepal channelize its promotions in India on reaching adventure segments too with more information on various options available for the younger Indian audience.

 

Mero Gaun, Mero Thaun Video Challenge 2020 – We Will Rise Foundation
 
Following the successful hosting of the First Video Challenge this year to unravel tourism destination with enough tourism development potentiality of natural, cultural heritages, costumes, the introduction of the castes, culinary arts and cultural assets, We Will Rise Foundation will be hosting Second such event in April 2020. Oscar-winning Hollywood Actor Adrien Brody Visited Nepal

Oscar-winning Hollywood actor Mr. Adrien Brody was in Nepal for trekking in the Everest region. This was not the 46-year-old actor’s first trip to the Himalayas. Brody previously visited Nepal back in 2015 to participate in various charity activities. The actor was active on social media since a week or so ago when he began posting images and videos from Nepal.

Tamu Lhosar

Abiding the lunar calendar Gurung and other Himalayan communities of Nepal celebrate Tamu Lhosar as their New Year during the month of December. Monasteries are attractively adorned with colorful decorative items.
People take blessings from monks for their progress, prosperity, and happiness. Each home raises a flag on top of its roof. A party is organized at home and invitations are forwarded to relatives and friends. Delicious food, music, and dance become the essence of the party. Greetings and gifts are exchanged.

 

Maghe Sankranti

Maghe Sankranti is celebrated on the first day of Magh (around mid-January). Nepali people celebrate it as the beginning of the auspicious month of Magh. 
The festival is a harbinger of longer and relatively warmer days in comparison to the cold month of Poush. On this day, the sun is believed to start moving toward the Northern Hemisphere. In that sense, Maghe Sankranti is similar to solstice festivals in other religious traditions.
