Newly appointed Secretary to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Mr. Kedar Bahadur Adhikari was welcomed by Nepal Tourism Board at its office in Bhrikutimandap on Aug. 23, 2019. Joint Secretary from the MoCTCA , Members of the Executive Committee, Chief Executive Officer of NTB, Directors and officials were also present during the welcoming ceremony.

Ban on Plastic Bottles and Bags in Everest Region from January
 

Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality in Solukhumbu district has decided that starting January 1, 2020, it will impose a ban on the use of plastic bags, bottles and other plastic items, citing their adverse effects on human health, especially in the whole Everest region.

Himalayan Airlines to Operate Flights to Beijing

Himalayan Airlines plans to operate three weekly services to Beijing Daxing International Airport. The airline is in the process of acquiring an Airbus A319 narrow-body jet that can carry up to 160 passengers for the Beijing flight.

Siddhartha Art Gallery presents “To Remember” — a mixed media exhibition by ‘Space A’ artists in residence from Iran: Farshid Davoodi, Maryam Ashkanian and Sima Shahmoradhi.

Hon’ble K. K. Karmacharya, Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, and Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of Nepal Tourism Board, will open the exhibition on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019, at 5:30 PM at Siddhartha Art Gallery, Baber Mahal Revisited.

Kushe Aunsi – Aug. 30, 2019
 
Watch the Nepali people celebrate their traditional father’s day or Kushe Aunsi on Aug. 30. The festival is also known as Gokarna Aunsi.

This is a special day set apart for the veneration of one’s father. On this auspicious day, sons and daughters go home to meet and spend quality time with their fathers. They offer home-cooked delicacies, sweets, meat and other gifts to their fathers on this day.
