Nepal Promoted as a Destination for ‘Lifetime Experience’ in Japan
 

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in coordination with Embassy of Nepal in Japan organized ‘Nepal Destination Promotion Program’ in two cities of Japan; Osaka and Tokyo on 29th of August and 2nd of September 2019 respectively. The programs were organized after landing of a national flag carrier in Kansai International Airport and were focused on promoting Nepal as a destination for “Lifetime Experience” in the context of Visit Nepal Year 2020.

Special Session on Transformative Tourism

A special session on Transformative Tourism concluded successfully on Aug. 25 at the Marriot in the presence of senior travel leaders, travel enthusiasts, media and tour guides. Speaking at the event, Dr. Basanta Bidari, Chief Archeologist and expert on Lumbini, shed light on the historical importance of Kapilvastu and Ramgram. Similarly, Prof. Dr. Sudarshan Raj Tiwari, former Dean of the Engineering College, spoke on the historical importance of monuments in Kathmandu.

The Kailash Confluence to Promote Limi Valley of Humla

Namkha Rural Municipality, with support from the Karnali Province, Nepal Tourism Board, and Kailash Sacred Landscape Conservation and Development Initiative, is organizing the Kailash Confluence on Sept. 23-24, 2019 in Yalbang, Humla. The confluence is looking to bring together participants from China, India, and Nepal to celebrate the shared culture, history, and economy of the Humla region while fostering the region’s transboundary tourism and trade. The private sector of Nepal is offering special tour packages for the event.

Nepal bags “Best Decoration Award” in Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF) 2019, Ahmedabad

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) participated in Travel & Tourism Fair, TTF-2019, in the fast-rising city of Ahmedabad, in Gujarat held from Aug 30 to September 1, with the aim of increasing awareness and educating the Indian travelers on Nepal’s tourism products and activities.

As a part of National Tourism campaign, Nepal is celebrating Visit Nepal 2020 in which Nepal is marketing as an unique cultural, adventure & natural destination with new brand image that is rarely found anywhere else in the world targeting 2 million tourists.

Ghandruk village of Nepal is listed on CNN “Asia’s 13 best places”.

NTB Video Contest

Of the many unique emblems Nepal has, the flag of the country stands out with its uniqueness. As a celebration of fifth constitution day of the country, Nepal Tourism Board is organizing a video competition about the story on the most unique and the only triangular flag of the world- Flag of Nepal.



Submission Procedure:
Contestants can submit their videos via any cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, wetransfer) or email to creativecall@ntb.org.np.

Indra Jatra – Sept. 13, 2019
The eight-day long Indra Jatra festival falls in September and is one of the most exciting and revered festivals of the Newar community of the Kathmandu Valley. This also marks the beginning of a month-long festival season of autumn. It begins with the erection of a wooden pole made of pine at Basantapur Square in front of the old Hanuman Dhoka Palace.
