Two Electric Buses for Public Transport in Kathmandu

A private sector transport company on Monday rolled out two electric buses for public transport in Kathmandu. The arrival of the buses grabbed huge public attention as it was the first-ever instance when a private sector firm had imported electric buses for public transport. Two ministers, various government officials, private sector representatives and public participated in a programme to flag off the e-buses.

Amalgam

“Amalgam”, an exhibition of mixed media artwork by various Nepali artists at Siddhartha Art Gallery in Babarmahal, was inaugurated on Sept. 8 by Mr. Himalaya Shumsher Rana, Former Finance Secretary and Governor of Nepal Rashtra Bank. Mr. Rana, who is 92 years old and an ardent lover of the arts himself, appreciated the role played by Siddhartha Art Foundation in promoting contemporary Nepali art and artists for the past 32 years. The opening was attended by more than 50 people from different fields.

2nd Jumla Rara Ultra Marathon 2019

Karnali Sports Club is organizing a Jumla Rara Ultra Marathon which is a prime important marathon in Nepal and one of the important race of Nepal Trail Series 2019.

The race starts at Jumla Bazaar (2305m) and finishes at the Rara lake (2990m). The course is a measured 49 km, although it is basically uphill and downhill, the trail undulates and there are three steep uphill and downhill Dhaphe (3500m), Kavra cave, Bhulbhule (2950m) and Chuchemara (4017m).
