Nepal Garners Highly Positive Response at West India Cities
 
Nepal reached out to showcase and promote itself as a Lifetime Destination to the high potential West India market through Sales Mission in Surat, Gujarat, on Jan. 20, and in Pune, Maharashtra, on Jan. 22, 2020. The third in a series of Sales Mission in India since early January 2020, 10 Destination Management Companies (DMC) participated in the programs at Surat and Pune, led by Nepal Tourism Board and attended by almost 100 local tour operators in each city.

Tourist Arrival Summary of 2019
 
This year the total arrival is 11,97,191 tourists (9,95,884 by air route and 2,01,307 via land ports). In 2018, the total arrival was 11,73,072 tourists (9,69,287 by air route and 2,03,785 via land ports). In comparison to data of 2018, the arrival is increased by 2.05%.

Maha Shivaratri
Feb. 21, 2020 

 
Maha Shivaratri is one of the major festivals of Nepal and literally means “Night of the Shiva”. It is celebrated on the 14th day of the dark fortnight of the Māgha month, as per the Hindu lunar calendar. It is believed that on this day, the stars in the Northern Hemisphere are at most optimum positions to help raise a person’s spiritual energy. It is also believed that the Shiva principle is most active on this day of the year.

 

World Tantra Yoga Festival & Sacred Pilgrimage
Feb. 21 –  Mar. 2, 2020
