Visit Nepal 2020 Promoted in Cyprus

 
As part of the effort to explore new markets, the Embassy of Nepal in Israel, in coordination with Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), the Honorary Consul of Cyprus and the NRNA organized the first-ever “Nepal Evening” to promote the Visit Nepal 2020 campaign in Nicosia, Cyprus, on Feb. 14, 2020. This year is also the 40th anniversary of diplomatic reactions between Nepal and Cyprus.

“Nepal Evening” to Promote Visit Nepal 2020 Campaign in Tel Aviv, Israel

 
The Embassy of Nepal, Tel Aviv, in coordination with Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), organized “A Nepal Evening” to promote the Visit Nepal 2020 campaign in Tel Aviv, Israel on Feb. 13, 2020. This year is also the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Israel. The Honorable Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal Mr. Yogesh Bhattarai and H. E. Ambassador of Nepal to the State of Israel Dr. Anjan Shakya jointly inaugurated the very well attended event by lighting the Panas. Ambassador Dr. Shakya welcomed all the guests presenting a bird’s eye view on Nepal’s tourism.

Capacity Enhancement for Travel Trade in Mechinagar

 
Nepal Tourism Board has been organizing promotional activities to promote east Nepal and make the tourism industry competitive and sustainable in the region. NTB in association with Mechinagar Municipality organized a Capacity Enhancement Training for travel trade members of Mechinagar Municipality in Jhapa district. Honorable Chief Minister of Province No. 1 Sherdhan Rai inaugurated the event on Feb. 9, 2020, during the inaugural ceremony of the 6th Asian Rural Tourism Festival 2020.

 

Nepal Bags Best Decoration Excellence Award at TTF Bengaluru 2020

 
Nepal bagged the top honor of the Excellence Award for Best Decoration at TTF Bengaluru 2020. The Nepal stall was designed to reflect Nepal’s culture – a pagoda-style temple showcasing Nepal’s various products. 

 

India, China Top Tourist Arrival in Jan 2020

A total of 79,686 tourists visited Nepal during the month of January with India (16,882) and China (13,303) being the top sourced market countries. Meanwhile, Asian countries contributed to 39.1% of the regional distribution of tourist arrivals this month.

Holi – Fagu Purnima

Spring not only brings new life but also the festival of Holi, the Hindu festival of colors. Also known as Fagu Purnima, the festival is celebrated on the full-moon day at the end of the month of Falgun, which falls between mid-February and mid-May.
