NTB Launches Website, Evacuates & Assures Rescue of Stranded Tourists

 
In a bid to facilitate and rescue tourists from different tourist areas of Nepal, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) Crisis Unit has launched the strandedinnepal.com website. 
Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Tourism Board, Dr. Dhananjay Regmi assured, “We will leave no stone unturned to locate and rescue our valued tourists for which we solicit support and cooperation from local communities and concerned travel trade companies and associations.”

Nepal Tourism Board jointly with Travel Massive has initiated “Stranded in Nepal” to help travelers who are stranded in Nepal because of the ongoing lockdown by the Government due to COVID-19.

NTB Facilitates Rescue & Evacuation Mission for Tourists’ Safety

 
Three groups of stranded tourists were evacuated from various parts of the country on Mar. 26, 2020. Among them 60 were rescued from Jomsom, 58 from Pokhara and 14 from Lukla in close coordination with local authorities, embassies and travel/ trade associations. On Mar. 28, 2020, four flights of Nepal Airlines, two flights of Tara Air and one of Summit Air brought back around 95 tourists to Kathmandu. Tourists are being rescued from Pokhara via both air and roadways.
 

 

NTB Promotes Hygiene & Self Quarantine Guidelines in Hotels, Restaurants

 
Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) visited hotels and restaurants in the different parts of the valley on Monday, Mar. 23, 2020 to promote hygiene/safety and self-quarantine guidelines released by the Ministry of Health. During the visit, the teams also collected information regarding the ongoing safety measures taken, guest status and others.

Ram Navami

Ram Navami is a day celebrated in honor and memory of Lord Ram, who is believed to be the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is celebrated mostly fondly by Nepali people, visiting the nearby temple of Lord Ram with flowers and other offerings. For Hindus, Lord Ram symbolizes “the ideal man”. His victory Ravan is seen as the manifestation of good over evil even in the direst situations.

Nepali people follow their own calendar system known as the Bikram Era or Bikram Sambat. New Year is called Nava Varsha in the Nepali language and is observed as an official holiday. The day usually falls in the second week of April. During this occasion, people go for picnics, have get-togethers and celebrate the day socializing in various ways.
