Seventy-Three Tourists Rescued From Pokhara To Kathmandu
Seventy-three tourists including French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, Norwegian, Swiss, Swedish, Polish, and UK nationals were safely transferred from Pokhara to Kathmandu on Apr. 30, for a flight back home on May 2, 2020.
Similarly, three Japanese tourists from Machhikhola, Manaslu Circuit, Gorkha were rescued by Dharche Rural Municipality on Apr. 25, 2020. They were transferred safely to Kathmandu.
Sixty-five Sri Lankan students studying in Manipal College of Medical Sciences (MCOMS) were also transferred safely to Kathmandu and were facilitated with repatriation home on April 24, 2020.
Earlier 23 tourists were rescued from Pokhara on Apr. 16, 2020. Among them, 10 tourists were from France, and seven were from the United Kingdom. Similarly, eleven Korean tourists were rescued from Pokhara to Kathmandu on Apr. 9, 2020.
The rescue was coordinated by the respective Embassies in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Nepal. Details of rescue and evacuation can be accessed from trade.welcomenepal.com
