Trainings & Awareness Programs Conducted


1. NTB in coordination with Homestay Association Nepal organized an Orientation Program on revival of Homestay Tourism in post Covid -19 era on 29th Falgun,2077/ March 13, 2021, in Surkhet , capital of Karnali Province. 75 participants representing different Homestays of Nepal were present in the program. Experts of Homestay Tourism did PowerPoint presentation during the program. Mr. Suman Ghimire, Manager represented NTB at the event and presented a paper on the role of NTB in the promotion of Homestay Tourism.

2. NTB in coordination with Tourist Police Unit conducted an Orientation Program for Taxi Drivers, Rikshaw Drivers and Others of Kathmandu Valley regarding various issues including Road Security, Tourist Safety & Hospitality and Communication in Tourism Sector. The program held on 22nd Falgun 2077/ March 6, 2021, was attended by 120 participants.

3. NTB in coordination with Tokha Municipality and Shivapuri Baudeshwor Community Homestay conducted a Homestay Training from 9-12th Chaitra 2077, March 22 -24, 2021, at Tokha-1, Kathmandu. 25 participants benefited from the training program.

4. NTB in coordination with Tokha Municipality and Shivapuri Baudeshwor Community Homestay conducted an observation visit of Amaltari Homestay Nawalpur and Sirubari Homestay, Syangja. The program held from 13-15 Chaitra 2077, March 24-26, 2021, was attended by 35 participants. Ms. Janaki Prasad Upadhyay and Ms. Pragya Ghimire represented NTB during the observation.

Agreement with National Parks Regarding Signage in National Parks

NTB has signed agreements with Rara National Park and Kanchenjunga National Park for the placement of signage in the Park areas.

NTB Planning to Extend Sustainable Tourism Network to Provincial Level

NTB held an interaction program on the development of Sustainable Tourism and eco-tourism activities at its office in Bhrikuti mandap, Kathmandu.

Speaking at the program, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NTB Dr. Dhananjay Regmi pointed out the need for the effective implementation of the regulations related to protection and preservation of community forest so that the communities can lead their lives in a sustainable manner through tourism activities.

CEO Dr. Regmi further expressed his commitment that NTB will take initiatives in developing the eco-tourism activities and promoting in the domestic as well as the international market.

He further added that the NTB will buy and distribute the eco-friendly products as souvenirs within and outside the country if produced by the local communities with an intention of supporting their livelihood in a sustainable manner.

Similarly, Sr. Director of NTB Hikmat Singh Ayer informed that the Sustainable Tourism Network, coordinated by NTB will be formed at the provincial level as well.

Also, Sr. Director Ayer added that the Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between NTB Community Forest Research Centre, Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation to create a network for ecotourism development and promotion.

The code of conduct will be formulated for partnership with the stakeholders of community forest and STN members.

Assistant Forest Officer from the Community Forest Study Centre, Ministry of Forest and Environment Mr. Bishnu Gyawali made a presentation on the Eco-Tourism activities in community forest and Forest Act, 2076.

The program was attended by over 50 participants comprising of STN members and representatives from the community forest of different parts of Nepal.
