Status Update On Flight Suspension & Prohibitory OrdersThursday, May 13th, 2021

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has extended the suspension of the international flights till May 31st, 2021, due to the rise in the cases of people being infected and deaths related to COVID-19.

Earlier, the Government had decided to ban scheduled flights till mid-May. Issuing an urgent notice on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, CAAN informed that the two flights a week, one each by Nepal Airlines and Air India, will be in operation as per the Air bubble agreement reached between Nepal and India.

The notice further urged all the airline companies to halt their bookings and make an arrangement for refunding of air tickets that are already purchased or re-schedule the flights as per need of the passengers.

Meanwhile, the airlines seeking to operate medical, chartered and cargo flights will be granted permission to do their respective jobs.

Similarly, District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu, issued an extension on the prohibitory orders till May 27, 2021. The fresh imposition came keeping in view the risk poised in the public health due to the rise in detection of new variant of COVID-19 in the capital city. Earlier, the DAO, Kathmandu had imposed restriction till May 12, 2021.

नेपालमा कोभिड १९ को संक्रमण थप बढ्दै जाँदा नेपाल नागरिक उड्डयन प्राधिकरणले नेपालमा हुने अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय हवाई उडानमाथिको प्रतिवन्ध १७ जेठ, -३१ मे २०२१) सम्म कायम गरेको छ । यसअघि सरकारले वैशाख मसान्तसम्म सेड्युल उडानमाथि प्रतिवन्ध लगाउने निणर्य गरेको थियो । सो प्रतिवन्ध लम्ब्याएर सरकारले १७ जेठमा पुर्‍याइएको हो । प्राधिकरणले मंगलबार अत्यावश्यक सूचना जारी गर्दै सबै वायुसेवा कम्पनीलाई यस्तो जानकारी गराएको हो । यस बीचमा भारतसँग एअर बबल सम्झौता अनुरुप सातामा हुने दुई उडान भने हुने प्राधिकरणले जानकारी दिएको छ । यसबीचमा एयरलाइन्सहरुले मेडिकल उडान, चार्टर्ड र कार्गो उडानको अनुमति भने पाउने सूचनामा उल्लेख छ ।

यस्तै काठमाडौं उपत्यकामा जारी गरिएको निषेधाज्ञा जेठ १३ -२७ मे २०२१) सम्म लम्बाइएको छ । यस अघि २०७८ बैशाख २९ गते राति १२ बजेसम्म कायम गरिएकोमा नयाँ भेरियन्टको कोभिड १९ को संक्रमण थप बढेकोले अवधी थप गरिएको जिल्ला प्रसाशन कार्यालय काठमाण्डौं द्धारा सूचनामा उल्लेख गरिएकोले सम्बन्धित सबैको जानकारीको लागि सूचित गरिन्छ ।
