Interaction for Cooperation Between Nepal and Israel for Tourism PromotionFriday, February 25th, 2022

On Feb. 22, 2022, the CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Dr. Dhananjay Regmi, met with the Deputy Director of Mission, Israel in Nepal, Mr. Tal Shvartsman to discuss tourism cooperation between Nepal and Israel. During the meeting at NTB, it was mentioned that the two countries have a long history of cooperation, and that tourism in both countries could be promoted through mutual cooperation. Future plans such as the possibility of continuing the friendly visit program of diplomats, inviting travel writers and media representatives from both countries, as well as exchanging best tourism practices were discussed during the meeting.

NTB CEO, Dr. Regmi stated that because Israel has long aided various sectors of Nepal, it is high time to collaborate with Israel in the field of tourism as well. He also urged Israel to invest in Nepal&’s tourism sector, stating that tourism in Nepal would accelerate after in the post pandemic period. Mr. Shvartsman said Israelis see Nepal as one of the most beautiful countries in the world and said he was positive about the enormous tourism potential of Nepal. He stated that Israel’s practice was good even in the field of tourist search rescue and evacuation, stating that mutual assistance and cooperation could be accomplished in that area in the days to come. Speaking on the occasion, Senior Director Ms. Nandini Lahe-Thapa, Director Mani Raj Lamichhane, Officiating Director Laxman Gautam, and others stated that the exchange of cultural and tourism experiences between the two countries could benefit both.

नेपाल र इजरायल बीच पर्यटन प्रर्वद्धन गर्न आपसी सहकार्यका गर्ने सन्र्दभमा नेपाल पर्यटन बोर्डका कार्यकारी प्रमुख  डा.धनन्जय रेग्मी र नेपालका लागि इजरायली दुतावासका डेपुटी चीफ अफ मिसन ताल स्वाभर्तमान बीच बुधवार भेटवार्ता भएको छ । नेपाल पर्यटन बोर्डमा भएको भेटमा दुवै देशबीच लामो सम्बन्ध रहि आएको उल्लेख गर्दै आपसी सहकार्यमा दुवै देशको पर्यटन प्रवद्र्धन गर्न सकिने कुरामा जोड दिइएको थियो । भेटका क्रममा दुवैदेशका कुटनीतिक व्यक्ति,सेलिब्रेटी,सञ्चारकर्मीहरुको मैत्रीपूर्ण भ्रमणको कार्यक्रमलाई निरन्तरता दिने र पर्यटनका राम्रा अभ्यासहरु आदान प्रदान गर्न सकिने विषयमा भेटका अवसरमा छलफल भएको थियो ।

बोर्डका कार्यकारी प्रमुख (सिइओ) डा. रेग्मीले इजरायलबाट लामो समय देखि नेपालका विभिन्न क्षेत्रमा सहयोग प्रदान भईरहेको उल्लेख गर्दै पर्यटनका क्षेत्रमा समेत इजरायलसँग मिलेर काम गर्न सकिने बताउनु भयो । उहाँले कोभिडको संक्रमण क्रमशः घट्ै गएकोले विस्तारै नेपालको पर्यटनले गतिलिने बताउँदै इजरायललााई नेपालको पर्यटन क्षेत्रमा लगानी गर्न समेत आग्रह गर्नु भयो ।

नेपालका लागि इजरायली दुतावासका डेपुटी चीफ अफ मिसन ताल स्वाभर्तमानले नेपाल विश्वकै सुन्दर मुलुक भएको र यहाँ पर्यटनको अथाह सम्भावना रहेको उल्लेख गर्दै नेपालको समग्र आर्थिक विकासमा इजरायल सधैं तयार रहेको बताउनु भयो । उहाँले पर्यटक खोज तथा उद्धारको क्षेत्रमा समेत इजरायको अभ्यास राम्रो रहेकोले त्यस क्षेत्रमा आपसि सहयोग र सहकार्य गर्न सकिने धारणा राख्नुभयो ।

कार्यक्रममा बोर्डका वरिष्ठ निर्देशक नन्दिनी लाहे थापा, निर्देशक मणिराज लामिछाने,निमित्त निर्देशक लक्ष्मण गौतम लगायतले दुवै देशबीचको सांस्कृतिक तथा पर्यटकीय अनुभव आदान प्रदान गर्न सके यसबाट दुवै देशले फाइदा लिन सक्ने बताउनु भयो ।
