Nepal Tourism Board recognized the Full Circle Everest expedition climbers who successfully ascended tallest mountain on earth. The Full Circle Everest 2022 team is the first African American expedition team to reach the summit of Everest, the tallest mountain in the world.
Ms. Nandine Lahe Thapa, Senior Director of NTB, honored the climbers at Hotel Yak & Yeti on the 20th of May 2022. The expedition members believe that by taking this step, they will inspire the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts to get out there and discover the world more. In the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic, this record-breaking achievement has given adventurers and people across the world something to strive for. Mr. Philip Henderson, the team leader, expressed pride in his team’s successful ascent of Mt. Everest. “Climbing Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak, is an exciting and dangerous journey in and of itself. "It gives me and my team great pleasure to have achieved this success”, he said. Mr. Henderson stated that the team consisted of 7 African American climbers, including one woman, and 13 Nepali climbers.
