Nepal Education Cultural Center Inaugurated in Seoul, South KoreaFriday, July 22nd, 2022

Nepal Education Cultural Center was inaugurated in Seoul, South Korea, on July 21, 2022. The Center was established with the aim to promote culture and tourism of Nepal in South Korea. The Center is expected to help in reaching out more extensively to Korean market for revival of tourism promotion in Nepal.

One of the most famous Korean comedy artists, Mr. Kim Byung-Man was appointed Nepal’s Goodwill Ambassador for Korea. Artist Mr. Kim had supported earthquake victims and had helped establish schools in Nuwakot. His reputation and fan following in Korea and among Korean community is very big. The inauguration program also provided platform for tourism promotion and fresh updates on visiting Nepal to the Korean audience.

Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and Chairman of NTB Mr. Maheshwor Neupane led the Nepal delegation and inaugurated the Center. Deputy Mayor of Seoul Municipality, Head of Buddhist Monasteries in Korea, and President of Korean Comedy Association, were also present at the program. Nepal delegation included Executive Committee Members of NTB Mr. Madan Acharya and Mr. Ngawa Ngima Sherpa, Charge d’affairs of Nepal Embassy in Seoul Mr. Ram Singh Thapa, and Chief Executive Officer of NTB Dr. Dhananjay Regmi. Audience at the program was over hundred, with tour operators, journalists, mountaineers, artists and government officials from Korea.

At the program Deputy Mayor of Seoul Municipality expressed positivity about extending all possible support and cooperation to promote Nepal’s culture and tourism in Korea. Secretary Mr. Neupane was also highly optimistic regarding the Center’s facilitation of the same, while NTB CEO Dr. Regmi updated about Nepal’s preparation to welcome tourists back in terms of safety, protocol adherence and products.
