Nepal Promoted at 9th Asian Tourism Fair in BangladeshFriday, November 11th, 2022

NTB in coordination with NATTA Nepal promoted Nepal at the 9th Asian Tourism Fair in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1, 2022. Nepal received huge mileage as "Partner Country" status at the fair. Partner sector representatives at the fair were 10 NATTA affiliated members including travel, trekking and hospitality service providers. The fair catered to both travel trade fraternity and consumers.

Side events included business to business (B2B) sessions for updates and exchange of trade contacts and a special destination presentation program. H.E. Ambassador of Nepal to Bangladesh Mr. Ghanashyam Bhandari was also present at the "Tourism Networking Reception" at Nepal Embassy on Sept 29. The Ambassador spoke on the need to synergize efforts to tap the huge tourism potential between two countries through proper policy formulation, cooperation and networking, to benefit from each other.

Highlighting destination information Mr. Bimal Kadel, Manager of NTB, made a presentation on destination with highlights on Nepal was an ideal holiday for Bangladeshi tourists. Mr. Kadel also spoke about regional tourism efforts that could bolster movement in the region BBIN (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal ). At a special networking dinner, Senior Vice President of NATTA, Mr. Pramod Dahal stressed on the need for better connectivity to increase movement to and fro Nepal and Bangladesh and increase arrival number to Nepal.

Private sector participants from Nepal had the networking opportunities to meet with more 400 tour operators from Bangladesh and Nepal stall provided direct information to more than 20,000 consumers. Dhaka, flying time just an hour or more, is directly connected by Biman Bangladesh and Himalaya Airlines. Before the pandemic Nepal had received more than 29,000 tourists from Bangladesh, however, tourists arrival is slowly increasing now as a result of such promotion and trade contacts. #TogetherforTourism #NepalPromotioninBangladesh
