SATTE 2023 hints at strong recovery yearTuesday, February 14th, 2023
Among the largest travel and tourism expos in the world, the 30th Edition of the SATTE 2023, saw the presence of all Indian States, over 50 Countries and 600+ Hosted Buyers. Organized in the sidelines of G20 Summit, global tourism fraternity has been expecting of 75% of the tourism recovery to pre-Covid level.
Riding high on the rich legacy of travel and tourism exchange in South Asia, the 30 th Edition of SATTE concluded at India Expo Center, Greater Noida in Delhi NCR on 11 th of February 2023. The three day tourism showpiece event offered an extraordinary ensemble of more than 1200 exhibitors, 800 VIP delegates, 50 countries and 28 states from India. The show provided a comprehensive platform for international buyers and tourism professionals from across tourism and hospitality industry to exchange ideas on innovations and trends to stabilize the revival of tourism and accelerate the growth, both regional and international.
In the light of the remarkable recovery of tourism in 2022, Nepal is looking at 2023 as a great year of recovery and rebuilding of tourism. India, being the largest contributor to Nepalese tourism, the regional tourism is key to recovery of the sector and SATTE’s 30th edition has helped in building and facilitating contact, business deals and in encouraging partnerships among the stakeholders.

SATTE 2023, organised by Informa Markets in India, started on 9th February at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, Delhi NCR, with the aim of revitalizing the travel industry business. Spanning over three days from Feb 9th-11th, the event had been conceptualized around the theme ‘Inclusive and Sustainable Tourism’. The Outbound market from India is expected to reach $32 billion by 2027.
This year, SATTE celebrated 30 years and expected to have 30,000 attendees. The expo has received widespread acclaim from the industry, including support from various entities such as the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Indian and International Tourism Boards, global travel trade bodies, airlines, hotels, wellness resorts, cruises, theme parks, cinema locales, corporate travel, investors, and wedding planners amongst others.
Delhi seats as one of the most connected cities in India. The outpouring of outbound tourists to Delhi across the Indian cities makes Delhi big hub for all destinations markets. Regular flights by Air India, Vistara and Nepal Airlines add much value to Delhi as major source city for Nepal Tourism. Nepal Tourism Board led the contingent including Nepal Airlines and twenty five travel tour operators in SATTE 2023. The pitfall in SATTE 2023 ignites the much anticipated year of reckoning for Nepal Tourism in terms of Indian tourists’ windfall.
