TTF Chennai 2023 concludes with a strong message of recoveryMonday, February 27th, 2023
Nepal Tourism Board along with sixteen private companies participated, promoted and highlighted Nepal in TTF, Chennai 2023. The 3-day TTF Chennai edition concluded on February 26, 2023 with strong and productive participation of 150 exhibitors from 5 countries and 15 Indian States and Union territories. This edition of TTF Chennai is 50% bigger than the one held in 2022 – a clear projection that the industry is now on a strong upward curve.

The 3-day TTF Chennai edition concluded on February 26, 2023 with strong and productive participation of 150 exhibitors from 5 countries and 15 Indian States and Union territories. This edition of TTF Chennai is 50% bigger than the one held in 2022 – a clear projection that the industry is now on a strong upward curve.
The inauguration of TTF Chennai took place in the august presence of Thiru K. Ramachandran, Tourism Minister, Government of Tamil Nadu, Dr. B. Chandra Mohan, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government, Tourism, Culture & Religious Endowment Dept. & Chairman, Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation and Thiru. Sandeep Nanduri, IAS, Director of Tourism and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation, travel industry leaders, along with other dignitaries.
Nepal welcomed 209105 visitors in 2022, of which India alone contributed 34.05 % of the total number of arrivals. In this context, India has proved itself as the largest market of the tourism trade of the country. Further, India has become one of the fastest growing outbound travel markets in the whole world. In 2019, there were more than 23 million outbound tourist departures from India and in the outbound section, India is quickly becoming a major player in the global travel industry – the outbound MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) market in India is projected to grow around 9% during the period 2023-2024. Not only Indians are travelling to international destinations but also their average length of stay being increased. This provides an opportunity for Nepal to be the top priority holiday destination among Indian outbound tourist. To increase number of visitors of country and to achieve the overhanging goal promotion and marketing in the country with total population of 1400 million. Furthermore, Indian can offer much greater number of tourists as the trend of travelling is increasing even among people low-mild income.

TTF Chennai 2023 concluded with overwhelming response and inquiries from prospective visitors. Nepal pavilion was the center of attraction among the visitors. The pavilion was open from four sides which helped the stalls welcome more and more number of visitors. Queries were more focused regarding Kailashnath and Muktinath, Seasons to visit and the major tourism products of the country and the means of transportation to reach Nepal. With the encouraging footfalls in the 3 days show, we are motivated to promote Nepal more in South India with more roadshows in the future ahead. Nepal received the “Award of Excellence” for its attractive promotional materials from Fairfest Team.
In the light of the remarkable recovery of tourism in 2022, Nepal is looking at 2023 as a great year of recovery and rebuilding of tourism. India, being the largest generating source market to Nepalese tourism, the regional tourism is key to recovery of the sector and TTF 2023 has contributed to building and facilitating contact, business deals and in encouraging partnerships among the stakeholders. The expo has received widespread positive acclaim from the industry, including support from various entities.
