Khaptad to be developed as an International Spiritual Tourism Destination of Far-Western NepalTuesday, June 6th, 2023

A three-day international spiritual conference begins in Khaptad, a beautiful high land area of Far-western Nepal on Tuesday.

Inaugurating the function, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ expressed his commitment of developing Khaptad as an international Spiritual Tourism Destination.

The Prime Minister added that the development plan of Khaptad will be charted out by the Nepal Investment Board and the special authority will be formed to execute the plan. 

Similarly renowed Yoga Guru Ram Dev Baba assured that he along with his disciple Archarya Bal Krishna will leave no stone unturned to provide support to the Nepal government for the development and promotion of Khaptad as an international spiritual hub.

Likewise, the international development partners showed interest in bringing their investment for the development of Khaptad area. 

The conference which was participated in by the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Foreign Minister Narayan Prasad Saud, Far-west Province Chief Kamal Bahadur Shah, Member of Parliaments and Ambassadors and representatives of various diplomatic missions.

The conference showcased cultural dances such as Gaura, Deuda, Putala, Jhaki Bhuwa among others.

The spiritual conference which was organized for the first time in Khaptad that ranges in elevation from 1,400 m (4,600 ft) to 3,300 m (10,800 ft) above the sea surface and the renowned Saint Khaptad Swami spent about 50 years in the sacred land to practice spiritualism and meditation. 

The Khaptad National park is the only mid-mountain national park in western Nepal and represents a unique and important ecosystem.

The conference was being organized in joint collaboration of Far-west Provincial government, Nepal Tourism Board office and local bodies.

The conference is scheduled to end on Friday.
